I and my partner Bryce Dent walked out of our plane and into the warm/ humid air that was Honlulu Hawaii. The airport was filled with families, businessmen and even some bachelors, all looking to enjoy their time in paradise. We both made our way to customs and walked up to the front desk.

"Welcome to Hawaii," the desk worker said taking their passports, "Business or pleasure?"

"A bit of both," I said.

"Mostly pleasure though," Bryce said with a smile.

"Well enjoy your time," the desk worker said, "And again, welcome."

I smiled and then walked away with Bryce following me in toe. While waiting for our bags, I looked over at Bryce and saw that he was smiling.

"You're enjoying this aren't you," I said looking for my bag.

"This is my first time outside of England," Bryce said grabbing his black duffle bag, "And I couldn't think of a better place to be right now."

"Try to remember," I said grabbing my tan wheel bag, "This isn't a, how you call it, a "holiday" alright, we are here to capture a very dangerous man. One who is responsible for the death of 12 cops back in London."

"Don't you think I don't remember," Bryce said walking next to me, "I want to catch him, just as much as you do, but we have to tread lightly. We don't necessarily have the authority to be here nor does anyone back in London know that we are here. What the hell is the Chief going to say?

"Don't worry about the Chief," I said, "I just told him that we were going to visit my old boss in Detroit but if he asks how we got to Hawaii, then we say, took the wrong flight."

"Like he is going to buy that," Bryce said.

"You would be surprised how easy it is to trick him," I said flagging down a cab.

"Say," Bryce said, "Before we go to the hotel and get to work. Do you think we can eat?"

"Didn't you eat on the 15 hour flight," I said opening the cab door.

"I mean," Bryce said, "That was like 2 hours ago, and I am hungry again."

I rolled my eyes and hopped in the cab.

"So is that a yes," Bryce said hopping in next to me.

After the cab driver put the bags into the trunk, he came up to the front and then turned toward I and Bryce.

"So," the cab driver said, "Where to?"

I looked at Bryce and then said, "Anywhere with the best food in town. Preferably seafood. And not to expensive."

"I know just the place," the cab driver said turning back around.

While the cab driver drove to our location, I took off my sweatshirt that I had been wearing on the plane and just wore my black shirt.

Good thing I wore shorts, I thought, Bryce on the other hand, black pants, with black shoes and a blue shirt. He must be roasting.

We continued to drive along the water, until the cab driver pulled up to a food truck that read, Kamekona's.

"Is that it," I said leaning forward.

"Best shrimp on the island, or your money back."

Looking at the shrimp truck, there were only 6 people sitting at one table. I looked at Bryce who was already out of the car and walking toward the shrimp truck with his duffle bag around his shoulder.

I got out, grabbed my bag and paid the cab driver.

"Ma'halo," the driver said, "And enjoy."

I walked up to the front of the truck and looked at the menu. The prices weren't horrible but weren't great either.

"How good can it be, if it comes out of a truck," I said looking at Bryce.

"Food is food," Bryce said as a rather large man approached the counter.

"Welcome to Kamekono's Shrimp Truck," he said, "May I interest you in the special, which is a spicy shrimp w/ a side of pinapple."

"That sounds good," Bryce said, "I will take one of those. And a water please."

"And for you," he said looking toward me, "Same thing?"

"Just a water," I said.

"Alright," he said, "Your total is 25 even."

Bryce placed money on the counter and walked toward the table that was across from the only other party that was there. Walking by them, I saw there were badges and guns. They were cops.

"So," Bryce said placing his hands together, "Now, we can discuss the cas--."

I kicked Bryce under the table.

"Ow," Bryce said looking down, "What you do that for?"

I tilted my head and then Bryce looked over to the group of people who were still laughing it up and then Bryce noticed the badages and then nodded back.

"So what shall we do after lunch," Bryce asked rolling up his sleeves.

"Maybe head back to the hotel and then pay Carlos a visit."

"But do we know where he is?"

"I think he said he would be with his aunt," I said leaning back, "Remember?"

"Oh yeah," Bryce said, "We should try to see if we can find her address."

"That's easy," I said, "I will just look her up online. I am sure there is an address somewhere."

Then a young looking kid came over and dropped off our order.

"Enjoy," he said.

"Thank you," Bryce said looking at his name tag, "Nahele."

The kid smiled and then walked away back toward the truck.

"This smells amazing," Bryce said mixing up the shrimp, "How is your water?"

"Bite me," I said pointing at him.

Bryce smiled and then began to eat his shrimp, enjoying every bite and then he looked out toward the ocean and then said, "We will find him, Nora? Right?"

"We will," I said, "We have too."

Before Bryce could speak again, a single shot rang out past Bryce and then hit me directly in the chest. I fell down to the ground with a thud and then everything went dark.

(Bryce's View)

"EVERYONE DOWN," the man sitting at the opposite table said.

Bryce dropped to the ground and then looked in the direction to where the shot came from, but couldn't see the shooter but Bryce knew who it was.

"I don't see the shooter," the man shouted, "Danny? Chin? Kono? Lou?"

"I don't see him," the girl replied.

Steve stood up and then looked around, "I think we are clear. Is everyone okay?"

"I think so," Kono said looking around.

Bryce then stood up and said, "It was Carlos, Nora. I know it was. But it is going to take more then that right?"

Bryce looked over to where Nora should have been standing, "Nora?"

Looking down, he saw his partner in a pool of her own blood.

"No," Bryce said running down to his partner, "NORA. Stay with me okay?"

"Danny, call an ambulance," Steve said running over to Nora.

"You can't die," Bryce said applying pressure to the wound, "Stay with me. NORA."
