Okay guys, Mya here and I’m opening up a section of my shop to help those mobile user followers of mine branch out on their graphics quality a little.

As a mobile graphics artist of two years, I’ve learned a lot, but the main thing is this: You don’t need Photoshop or even a computer to make great graphics.

In my time I have learned how to replicate almost everything commonly done on Photoshop in my collection of editing apps. My friends have scolded me because I don’t have room on my phone for things like multiplayer games, but I don’t care because I was proud of the graphics that I made on my phone and it angered me immensely whenever someone would say that you needed Photoshop to be a great graphic artist.

No, you don’t.

I need to stress this. Photoshop won’t make you great, in fact it will probably make you crap until you figure out how to use it. Lucky for me I learned PS Touch beforehand or I would be completely lost. There are a bajillion great Photoshop editors out there, but as great as they are, I never really looked up to any of them.

Because she started out on mobile and she became epic. I respected her mobile graphics more than her Photoshop ones because she proved that you didn’t need it to be awesome. I modeled my earlier and most favorite style after her with a touch of myself blended in. I wish I could get that back – the ones like the covers in my Guild of Graphics interview. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do that again.

Now is the part you’ve been waiting for.

Despite everything I believed, I still got Photoshop because it is awesome, and there are a few things that every mobile artist dreams about.

I’m making one of those options open to you guys today.

It’s simple and fast and it kills me that there aren’t many good options to do it on mobile.

So I’m going to try and give back to those mobile artists who probably only followed my graphics because I was a mobile artist.
