"I went out with a friend today" I told Cole through the phone. He asked me how my day was.

"Cool, I had work" He said with a funny voice.

Hot, sexy and cute.

"How did that go?" I asked.

"The usual, boring, no one comes to the coffee shop anyways" He said, laughing slightly.

"I should probably get a job myself, I am turning 18 soon"

"Oh, whens your birthday?" He asked.

"In 2 weeks, December 30th"

"Oh" He responded.

Is that all?

An awkward silence filled the air. I couldn't take it anymore and I told Cole that I had to go.

'Oh'??

It sounded as if he didn't care.

Well Lia its your birthday we're talking about. No one cares. So obviously Cole wouldn't.

Cole's cough from the other line shook me out of my thoughts.

"I erm, have to go. Bye Amelia" He rushed, then put the phone down.

"Lia so what if he doesn't care urghh just let it go there are sooo many other guys out there" Emily screeched, after I told her the conversation me and cole had a couple hours ago.

"The other day you were telling me that I had finally found my 'true love'" I explained putting air quotes.

"Yeah, well forget it." She said, suddenly interested on her phone.

"Okay, Emily what the hell is going on?"

"Nothing"

"Emily..."

"I said nothing Lia, drop it!" She exclaimed.

"Woah, ok. Gosh." I agreed, slightly getting annoyed.

"Lia."

"Lia..."

"LIA!!" Emily screamed.

"What?!" I screamed back.

"It's a surprise. I can't tell you anything." She said smiling.

"A surprise for what?" I asked.

"Your birthday, stupid"

Oh. So it was do to with something for my birthday.. Was that why Cole was acting weird??

"Has it got something to do with Cole?" I asked curiously

"Maybe... Maybe not.."

Okay so that definitely meant a yes.
