I felt a cold breeze brush against my skin as I awoke and shivered. The Blizzard had stopped and i saw a faint light from the sun shinning through the gray sky. The snow had to be many feet deep. I don't know how we could walk through it without getting frostbit. I then turned over and saw Tom just laying there still. Frantically, I rushed over to him and shook his shoulder.

"Tom, honey?" Worry filled my head as I was scared for the worst. I saw his eyes flutter open and he gave me a smile. I could hear him struggling to breathe normal and the pain in his eyes but he stared at me memorized like he never would again. Tears spilled out of my eyes as I tried to smile at him and ask him how he felt. He gave me a sad look and tried to sit up. I helped him as he moaned and exhaled through his mouth. His eyes winced as he finally got his back straight and laid against the rock wall of the cave. He turned his head and looked out the cave.

"Looks like the Blizzard stopped." He said.

"Yeah...but...it looks pretty deep. How would we walk through it?" I asked. He looked back at me and smiled.

"You'll figure something out. You always do." He then reached out for my hand and grabbed it. He rubbed his thumb on the top of my hand and gazed into my eyes.

"But how do you feel today?" I ask, worry filling my head. He looked down and sighed.

"I...the truth is...i don't know."

"What do you mean? How can you not know?"

"It's complicated. Because I can talk a lot easier but I'm having trouble catching my breathe. I ache all over."

"Do you have a fever?"

"Uh...no.....i don't think so but....i just hurt." I tried to wrap my mind of what he was saying and what it could mean.

"Tom...you know we can't stay here forever, right?"

"Yeah, but..."

"Look! I have an idea. The first part is really deep but once we get past that we can walk the rest of the way."

"What do you mean walk?"

"I mean, we would...well...crawl."

"What!? We can't crawl in the snow! And..i don't know if i could!"

"Tom! It's the only way! You can't walk in deep snow or you'll fall through it!" I waited for a long time for him to make up his mind but he finally said yes. I helped him get up and he wrapped his arm around my neck for balance. He shivered so bad. What if he doesn't make it through the snow? What if he leaves me? I tried to shake those thoughts out of my head and carry on but they would leave. We came to the the edge of the cave and stopped. The path going down the mountain was deep with snow and rocks could be under there ready to stab us. I looked at Tom and gently kissed him on the cheek. A smile spread across his face and he turned his head back to look at me. He leaned in close to me and pressed his lips against mine. Warmth spread through our cheeks as we kissed and a actually felt....not cold! Well until he let go. Then I was cold again.

"You can do this baby. I know you can." I say.

"Don't worry about me Y/n. I love you. And I'm going to push through the pain for you." He says still shaking in his voice. A tear of happiness runs down my cheek as i give him a bear hug.

"Thank you." I say squeezing him tight. I take his hand and we start to slowly go down the mountain. The freezing cold wind blasted in our faces and the snow made our shoes soaking wet. As we got closer to the bottom of the mountain the snow got deeper. My feet kept falling in deep snow and it was hard to walk. Until my whole body feel in the snow. I screamed with terror and freight.

"Y/n!" Tom cried. "Hold on!!!" He ran over and grabbed my hand, pulling me up out of the snow. My body was even more cold now and I noticed I couldn't feel anything.

"Are you ok!?"

"I...I can't feel anything!" I winced with freight as Tom used his hand to press on my leg to see if i could feel it.

"Can you feel anything?" I ask.

"Well not my feet." He says.

"Tom, I think we should check our feet." We take off our shoes in pain and gasp at what we see.

Frost Bite

"Oh no!" I cry. It hurt so bad and my toes had turned a blackish color. I could tell we were near....well......I think you know. Tom leans over to me and wraps his arm around me.

"It's okay, y/n. We can get through this. I know we can. I know this looks bad but just have faith. I love you so much." He says with a shaky voice. I start cry but nod.

"You see? You see over there?" He says pointing to a glow over the trees. "What does that look like to you?" He says smiling. My eyes widen as I see a faint light glowing in the distance.

"It...it looks like a light!" I gasp.

"Yes! And i bet that that's a town over there. So come on y/n! We can do it! It's not that far."

We get up on last time and continue towards the light.

The journey was long and hard and the snow was so, so cold. We shook with coldness and pain spread throughout our bodies. But we kept going, for we loved each other so much that we would do the impossible to make sure that we would be with each other for eternity.

It was 7 a.m. when we arrived at the town. We had been walking through that deep snow all night. We arrived cold and inhuman looking. Our faces were white and the frost bite had gotten worse. much worse. Tom was in MUCH worse shape then me though. He could hardly stand up but he keep going because he loved me.

"See...I...I..t...told you...we ccccould do it." I tried to say giving me the best smile he could. The next thing I know is the medics coming to rescue us and putting us in the ambulance. We had done it. We survived and made it back to civilization.

I made it back.
