"So you can understand me. How did you learn to understand pokemon?" Eevan asked. Eeva was to focused on the woods to hear him.
"...If we keep going this way... Then we'll get somewhere. Looking at this little map, it seems that it's called Pewter City..."
"Eeva? Hello? Earth to trainer?!" Eevan reminded. "I've been down here before! I know where to go!"
Eeva looked at her partner. "Why didn't you say so? But first, I need to look for something. Would you mind?"
"Depends on what it is. But, probably not."
"Well, now that I look around, this seems really familiar. And if I'm thinking of the right place then there should be a Lum berry tree around here somewhere." She explained as she looked around.
Eevan gasped happily. "Lum berries! You'll get me some too, right?!"
"Of course! I always get lots, too! My Memmas always told me that they're rare, and they're so wonderful! I always plant a new sapling when I leave, jut to make sure I can have some more!" Eeva chuckled.
"'Memma'? Wait, were you raised by pokemon?!" Eevan asked, shocked.
"Huh? ...Oh, shoot... Uhm, yeah. You'd never believe me if I told you who raised me though." She kept her smile up, despite her slip.
"I just think that's cool! I've never met a human raised by pokemon who can understand me." Eevan told his trainer. Eeva laughed a little and took a hard right turn into the trees. "Hey!" Evan followed quickly.
In a small break just past a thicket of trees, was a big mass of plant, huge! And growing on it was hundreds of Lum berries. Eevan hopped onto Eeva's head, because she had little shoulders.
"That's so many!" He said excitedly. Eeva squealed quietly, then stood in a proud pose.
"This is what eight years of berry care does for you!" She said. Then she lifted Eevan off her head and stroked his tail. "I'm going to throw you up to the little pocket in there, alright?"
"Yeah okay. Just not too hard, please?" Eevan asked.
"Got it! Ready? One... Two... Three!" She threw him up, and he landed gracefully, almost showing off. "Get as many as I can hold!" She opened her bag, pulled out a length of rope, hid all the pokeballs into a safer pocket, and held out the bag to fill.
"Got it, Eeva!" He started pulling off berries from the trees, and dropping them down. Eeva caught them easily, but only because she's had practice.
Soon the bag was filled with Lum berries. "Okay Eevan! Now get three more!"
"Okay!" The little Eevee hopped down with three berries in his mouth. "Her vey ar!" He said, muffled.
Eeva laughed and took them out of her partner's mouth. "Thanks Eevan!" Then at the base of the tree, she dug a small hole. Just big enough for all three Lum berries. Then she patted the ground over them, stood, and dusted her hands off.
"There we go! Another year's guarantee!" She said joyfully before heading back to the path. Eevan hopped onto her head again and his fluff was sticking up in everywhere. (Grammar I know, I meant it.)
"Hey, Eeva? I'm getting a bad feeling around here... Can we hurry, please?" Eeva nodded slightly and started to run. For a human, she was fast. Eevan had to bite his trainer's hair just to make sure he didn't fall.
"AAAAAHHHHH!" A boy's voice rang out. He sounded like he was in trouble.
"Eeva! Did you hear that?!" Eevan asked desperately.
