Dear Jonah,
It's Christmas. I spent the day with Seth and Sandra. We opened presents early. I was the first one up, as usual. I dragged Seth out of bed and was so eager to open presents. I wore my bunny slippers that I had on the night you slept over. Seth let me open one present, but then made me wait until Sandra got here for the rest. I opened a thin rectangular box. I new it was a movie. I was a Christmas pro at this point. I ripped the paper off and stuffed it into the trash bag. It was Divergent. I had been begging Seth for it. All he said was, "Maybe Santa will bring it," which resulted in an eye roll and a pouty face.
While we waited for Sandra I put the movie on and we started breakfast. We made french toast with strawberries and bananas and lots of bacon on the side. As we were finishing up breakfast, Sandra walked in. We all sat around the tree with our plates of breakfast and our presents. I got Seth socks, because he wouldn't tell me anything else he wanted. He also got a gift card to the hardware store and the coffee shop down the street.
Sandra got me a bunch of clothes. She told me that I would knock the socks off all the boys at school. I laughed at her and held them up to me. Seth gave some questionable looks at the crop top and shorts she bought me. "It's winter. What does she need those for?" he said. We both laughed, but I thanked her.
I got Sandra a new purse and fuzzy socks. I also bought her some new make up. She loved Sephora and it was super expensive, but it was worth it when her eyes almost popped out of her head at the naked pallet I bought her.
It was almost 12 when we left for Sandra's parents house. It was a two hour car drive. We were going to have dinner at their house. It was the first time Seth was meeting them. He was nervous, I could tell. Almost as nervous as I was to meet your mom. I guess it runs in the family. I could tell her really loved Sandra. He didn't get nervous about many things. I had never seen him like this. He clenched the steering wheel tighter when it was 1:30. "Half an hour until we get there," Sandra said taunting him. She could tell he was nervous too. His cheeks went red. She kissed his cheek and rubbed his arm. "They'll love you," she said.
When we got there, Seth was a nervous wreck, but it was funny. He almost dropped the bottle of wine he brought for them. He was walking into the kitchen, but missed that there was a small step and tripped. Luckily he caught himself before it got worse. Sandra laughed it off, but Seth was so embarrassed.
Her parents were great though. Her dad and Seth talked about work mostly. Her dad was a contractor so it sparked Seth's interest. He even offered Seth a job in his business. Sandra stopped him, but Seth was definitely thinking about it. Her mom was wonderful. She was so nice. Her, Sandra, and I sat in the living room most of the time and talked. Her mom asked if there as a boy in my life. Sandra shook her head and gave her a glare, trying to pass the message along, but I shook my head. They didn't need to be so careful. "No, there's no one," I said. After that it was a bit awkward, but eventually got better when we started to play charades.
I still love you,
Felicia
