Blusie's P.O.VI watched in awe at the scene before me.
They have wings...
I thought, as the smallest blonde haired girl was thrown into the air. Her small wings fluttered and she began plummeting toward the ground.
The boy was also flying and caught the little girl.
The oldest girl was fighting the wolfies.
I sat still, unsure of what to do.
Pearl!
I gasped and jumped to my feet, searching frantically for the door. Spotting it, I began running toward the door.
Then I heard a inhuman shriek.
I turned around and saw multitudes of hawks flying above the yard.
My heart beat faster as I grasped the door handle and pulled. I ran inside and looked about wildly for a familiar looking door. My bare feet pounded against the cold, tile floor.
Then I saw it, the door behind which sat my only friend. I swung the door open and barreled inside.
"Pearl!" I shouted, searching the large room for my best friend.
I suddenly spotted her pale blonde hair.
Thank goodness!
I ran toward her and sat down in front of her cage.
Closing my eyes, I imagined the lock springing open. When I open them, I saw the lock laying in the floor. Smiling softly, I pulled open the door.
"Hurry, Pearl! We're leaving! Now!" I informed her, working on the next cage. When I finished, I opened the door to the cage and stood up.
There's another girl in the cage beside Pearl. I hurriedly ran over and concentrated on opening the lock. I decided to try something new. I closed my eyes and imagined the lock breaking in half. I opened my eyes again and the lock was lying broken on the floor.
I swung open the door and pulled on the girls arm. She climbed out and looked at me with a confused expression. " We're breaking out," I explained, turning to leave.
Before I opened the door again I looked back at the cages that were unopened.
I wish I could save them all.
I thought, then I took a deep breath and began running again.
But, this time for the exit.
Alarms blared in the hallway and the walls were covered in a bright red light.
The hallways blurred together, then the door for the exit came into view. I quickly pushed it open to see chaos on the other side.
Hawks were dive bombing wolfies and scientist.
The oldest girl jumped into the air, unfurling speckled wings. Once in the air, the girl shouted, "Fang! Iggy! Gazzy! Let's go! Go, go, go!"
The boy she called Gazzy pointed at Pearl, the girl and I.
The oldest girl yelled, "Come with us!"
Pearl smiled at me and unfurled her icy, blue wings.
The girl beside me opened her Tawny wings.
They both jumped into the air and took off toward the others.
My heart hammered in my chest and I shook my head.
No, no, no. Not again please.
I pleaded silently, terrified of flying again.
The oldest girl yelled something at the boy called Iggy and he came zooming toward me.
He landed silently in front of me and said, "Don't you have wings?"
I nod.
He looked puzzled, "Then why don't you fly?"
I looked at my feet, "I'm scared."
The boy nodded and picked me up, "I'll carry you, then."
I wrapped my arms around his neck to keep from falling.
He jumped and began ascending.
I shut my eyes and took deep breaths.
It's okay, I told myself, it's not that high...
Then I looked down...
I screamed and Iggy nearly dropped me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.I took another shaky breath, "We're really high..."
"It's okay," he told me, "I promise I won't drop you."
My eye involuntarily began to close.
I'm free...
