Time went by and not much changed at Howard's campus. The weather got colder as December came around and at this point, we were all just praying for a little bit of sunshine. It seemed as if as the days went by, the more snow we saw, and the less sunshine we saw. I wasn't used to the cold weather. Well, I wasn't used to the brutally cold weather and I found myself stuck with the sniffles at least twice a week. Despite me being sick, and despite the weather being cold as hell, dance and basketball still went on. The Bison were still on their winning streak despite that one loss, and just last week we secured another win against the Greenwolves at the University of Minnesota. We had another game this week against a smaller college here in DC, and I was glad we wouldn't have to deal with the unnecessary traveling.
However, due to some last minute reasons, tonight's Monday practice was cancelled.
Alisha and Claire were still going strong, and it seemed as if after Alisha's conversation with her parents she felt a lot bolder towards her relationship. Her and Claire were going on more public dates and displaying more PDA than the usually did. I didn't mind it, and I was glad that the two of them were taking this step in their relationship.
Adele went MIA.
She wasn't posting on Instagram, Snapchat, or Twitter and despite our idea of letting her do what she wanted, we couldn't help but be nervous. It crossed my mind to ask Leo about it, but it seemed as if nowadays if he wasn't at basketball practice or basketball games, I never saw him. Part of me wanted to believe that maybe it had something to do with Adele and her pregnancy, but then another part of me doubted it. Adele mentioned that she wasn't going to force Leo into their child's life so if Leo didn't want to be around her and his future child, he wasn't going to be around them.
Nia was still 'single' despite the fact that she let it be known that Samir was hers and if I knew of anyone else 'fucking with [her] man' I was to let her know immediately. She vouched for Samir heavily which I thought was adorable. But that also meant that she was disappointed in my actions as well. She wanted to bring Samir to Howard's campus more often and show him off, but with me always being around, she was worried it would make things awkward and that was the last thing she wanted. I took the initiative to step back whenever Samir did come over to Howard with the intentions of seeing Nia, but it bothered me that he was still going out of his way to ignore me. With Christmas coming up, the holiday of love and family, I at least wanted my brother and I to be on good terms.
Speaking of Christmas...
It was certain that I wasn't going to go down to Alabama for Christmas and I definitely didn't want to spend Christmas here on campus. The thought of having nowhere to go for the Holiday season bothered me immensely, and Colby brought up the idea of me coming with him for Christmas. That meant meeting his family--his mom, his mother's boyfriend, his sister, and all the other important people in his life. I wanted to oblige immediately, but I wasn't even sure if I was ready to meet his family. I promised that I would let him know before that time came.
