"Sage..."

"Sage...can you wake up now?"

I sighed, opening my eyes and peering up at Colby who was bent over me as if I was patient on an operating table. His morning breath was on a ten right now and just as he was about to open his mouth, I placed a tender on top of his lips. He made a face at me and rolled his eyes. "It's not that bad...is it?" His question was muffled by the barrier of my hand. I giggled nodding my head. He shook his head as he took a step back.

"Merry Christmas," He spoke, pulling on a t-shirt over his bare body.

"Merry Christmas," I spoke happily awaking myself from my slumber. Christmas was definitely in the air at the Towers house and Mariah Carey was playing loudly. The smell of food was drifting all the way upstairs and I wasn't sure if I could be able to contain myself until the dinner at six in the evening.

"Have they started opening presents yet?" I questioned Colby.

He shook his head.

"Tanisha just got up too. They're waiting on the two girly girls of the house." Colby teased, helping me out of bed. I rolled my eyes at the term used before slipping on my house shoes.

"All this disrespect. I hope all you get is a lump of coal." I teased. Colby shook his head. "Ain't no lump of coal bih. I actually went out of my way this Christmas and I better not get no damn coal," Colby complained. I scoffed, opening the door to his room and walking down the hall towards the bathroom. "Christmas isn't about getting gifts, Colby." I responded and I could hear him sigh behind me. I opened the door to the bathroom and he snuck in behind me, closing the lid of the toilet before plopping himself right on the seat. I shot him a look and he shrugged, clearly confused on why I had yet to start brushing my teeth. I sighed, shaking my head before grabbing my toothbrush.

"I hope you're not about to lecture me about the meaning of Christmas, Sage." Colby complained. I rolled my eyes, ignoring him so I could make this freshening up process a lot quicker. I hated to make people wait and I couldn't wait to see all the presents that everyone was getting.

Part of me knew that there probably wouldn't be any presents for me underneath the tree and in hopes of going through that awkward 'oh, we didn't know you'd be here' speech, I threw in a pair of shoes for me. I mean, either way I was going to get them so why not make it look like it was a Christmas gift?

I threw some water onto my face, drying it with a damp wash cloth before turning towards Colby.

"Please stop staring at me like a fucking creep," I pleaded, pulling off my bonnet and tying my hair into a high ponytail.

"Stop being cute then," He retorted back. I shook my head, biting the inside of my mouth to stop myself from cheesing. I opened the door to the bathroom and walking out as Colby trailed behind.
