*BEEP**BEEP**BEEP*

I sprang out of my bed landing on the floor. Smacking my alarm to the ground the noise finally stopped. Sure, it was probably broken but I really don't care. Footsteps came rushing down the hall, and the door swung open. "Vylad! are you okay" Garroth asked his shirt halfway buttoned.

"Mmmhmm" I mumble slowly sitting up. I rubbed my eyes "Where are you going all dressed up" I yawned stretching out my arms. "I have an interview for that teaching job down the street" he said buttoning the rest of his shirt. "Shit, I start work today" I groan walking over to the closet grabbing a black polo shirt.

"Also baby bro we're leaving in twenty minutes" Garroth informs walking out of my room. I groan walking to the bathroom to take a quick shower. I stripped out of my pajamas and stepped into the ice cold shower. I continued washed my hair when I heard a loud bang at the door. I flinched sprinting out of the shower, only a towel wrapped around my waist.

"Garroth, what happened" I yelled trying to hold up my towel. Garroth was laying on the counter his tie on the ground. "Did you seriously make that loud noise, JUST because you couldn't tie your tie" I growled he simply nodded his head in shame. I sighed and walked back into the bathroom. Pulling on my uniform I walked back out to Garroth. I picked up his tie and wrapped it around his neck, I tied it slowly making sure I didn't mess up. I adjusted the knot and brushed his shoulders. "Well I'm done here" I smiled and the apartment door opened. Garroth kissed my head and ruffled my hair. "Hey neighbors... I'm sorry am I interrupting something" Laurance said rubbing his neck awkwardly.

"No, whatcha need Laurance" Garroth asks fixing his hair. "Well I was wondering if I could borrow the air conditioning instructions" He asked and I reached for the heavy book. I handed it to him and he smiled. "Thanks! Also you two make a cute couple" Laurance exclaimed. I started laughing my ass off and my older brother turned a bright red. "Dude he's my baby brother" Garroth stated joining my laughter. "Ohh, sorry about that" Laurance chuckled "Well I'll be on my way" he continued closing the door behind him.

Our laughter died down as I grabbed my green beanie off the counter. "Well lets go Babe" I joked and he just laughed, punching my arm. "Let's just go Vylad" we walked out to the elevator area and walked out to the parking lot. We both clambered into the small car, and started driving. Now this was a longer drive due to the fact Garroth is a paranoid person. We finally arrived at the small bookstore and I waved goodbye. "Good luck Garroth" I say and he drives away, I took a deep breath and walked inside. A small ring filled the store.

"Welcome to.. Oh hello Vylad your early" Donna smiled a box in her hands. I walked over to her and grabbed the box from her hands. "Oh Vylad you don't have to do that for me" she smiled grabbing my apron. "Hey it's the least I could do, you're the one who gave me the job" I smiled placing the box on the nearest shelf. She handed me the apron and I flung it over my head. Donna adjusted my name tag, when the bell rang. "Dante" Donna smiled giving him a quick hug. "Vylad, this is Dante, your co-worker" She explained a smile across her face. I held out my hand "Vylad Ro'Meave, nice to meet you" I exclaimed and he grabbed my hand shaking it. "Dante Lucas, the pleasure is mine" he told me a small smirk appearing on his face.

My cheeks felt warm as I pulled my hand away. "Well I hope you two get along. Dante your apron is in the back I'll go grab it for you. You two boys chat get to know each other, since you two are my only employees" she smiled walking into the back room. "So Vylad, tell me about yourself" he asked leaning against the register counter. "Well I'm the youngest in my family. I've also lived on the street for the past few years of my life. I also am living with my oldest brother, what about you" I explain adjusting my hat. "I'm also the youngest in my family. I live alone and my parents are living in Tu'La" he says looking at me with his deep blue eyes.

Vylad, stop your gay is showing.

Donna came back handing the bluenette his green apron. "Thanks Don" he smiled tying it behind his back. "No problem" she smiled brightly. "Now boys, when you come in all I really need you to do is place the boxes books on shelves and check people out. Simple enough, but around closing time I'll need you to count the money, sweep the floor, and make sure the front door is locked up" Donna finished clapping her hands together. "That's all" I asked confused, Dante having the same look as me. "Yup" she smiled brightly pushing her hair behind her ears. "I have a question. When we have lunch are we allowed to go to the diner down the street" Dante asked and Donna nodded. "Of course as long as you are back before 2:30"

"Well let's get started" Donna smiled turning the closed sign to open. Dante and I walked to the back room and started to carry out boxes. I placed one on the ground and started placing each book on the shelves. The small bell rang and Dante greeted them "Welcome to Wolf's Ear Books, how may I help you"

Three small boys walked in, each one different from the other. "Adrien, come on I don't wanna be here" the taller out of them complains. "That sucks to be you Aaron" One with glasses said playing on his DS. "I only need one thing, you could have stayed outside" Adrien sassed pulling a book out from the shelf. He grabbed the book quickly and placed it on the counter. Donna smiled "Five fifty please". The shortest boy pulled out his wallet and handed her a ten. He got his change and walked out, the two others following behind him.

"Reminds me of my brothers" I chuckled to myself as I lifted the now empty box. We continued to work until 1:45, when Donna said we could go to lunch.

"You wanna come to the diner with me Vylad" Dante asked pulling off his apron. I nodded my head and the two of us walked to the small diner. Dante held the door open for me which caused me to smile. I love it when people are this kind. We both sat down at a small table and waited.

"Welcome to Corner Stop, my name is Gene and I'll be taking your order" the tall waiter said pulling out his notepad. "Hey bro, I'll have a turkey sandwich" Dante smiled closing his menu. "And I-I'll have a veggie burger" I stuttered handing Gene my menu. "Coming right up" he smirked walking away. "So, is he your brother" I asked and Dante nodded simply. "Yeah, he's cool. I've learned to deal with him" Dante chucked which caused me to smile.

What is it about this boy that makes me feel like my world is a bit brighter. I hope we can become good friends.

The two of us walked back to the bookshop just in time for closing. Dante swept the floor and I counted our profits. Donna had already left because she had to pick up her kids. I finished counting and wrote the final total on a sign-in sheet. "Well you ready to go" Dante asked whipping his forehead. I nodded and the two of us locked up the shop. I heard a small beep and saw Garroth waving. "See ya Dante" I smiled and waved, before I could step any further he grabbed my shoulder. He handed me a piece of paper and gave me his signature smile. I smirked and started walking to Garroth's car. I climbed in and he smirked evilly.

"So who was that" he asked and I looked down at the slip of paper. His number was written down with call me next to it, I smiled brightly.

"Just my co-worker" I answered typing his number into my contacts.

"When's the wedding" Garroth teases and I punched his arm. "You are honestly the worst" I argue as we drove home. The rest of the ride was filled with him teasing me about Dante. I don't get why, I like someone else.
