"Dad! Garroth, Aphmau and Laurence are here" Nekoette shouted prancing passed my bedroom door. I practically sprinted down the stairs, tripping over the last few steps. "Vylad" Aph squealed pulling me into a tight hug. "Guys how's it been" I asked pulling away and wrapping my arm around Aph's shoulders. "Well we should be asking you this. How long have you been staying with Dante, a year now ?" Garroth smiled wrapping an arm around his now fiancé's waist.
"Yeah, around a year and a half now. It's been one hell of a ride" I explain just as the front door opens. "Back from the track meet. Oh hey guys" Dante greeted a panting Dimitri close behind. The few of us went into the living area, and continued our conversation. "So I actually have some exciting news" Aphmau chirped her hands tucked into her lap. "Katelyn and I are adopting a few kids from the orphanage" She continued digging through her purse. "That's great news Aph" Dante shouted resting his hand on my thigh.
Aphmau pulled a few polaroid pictures from her purse. She handed me the photos, they were of her, Katelyn and around three different kids.
The tallest boy had dark brown hair, and tanned skin. He also had deep green eyes and freckles scattered across his entire face.
Next was a slightly shorter boy with blond hair. He had pale blue eyes and fair skin. The boy also held a small girl in his arms. She had light brown hair and cyan eyes. Her cheeks had a slight rosy hue, much like Katelyn. Unlike the other two boys she had pointed ears, much like a wyvern.
"They're beautiful children Aphmau. I can't wait to meet the small kiddos" I smile handing the photos to Garroth. "Aww, what are their names Aph" Laurence asked tilting his head slightly. "Well the oldest one is Malachi, the blond one is Levin, and the girl is Lilith Garnet" she explained taking the pictures back. A sudden bang came from upstairs and Nekoette shouting.
Her feet practically slipped down the stairs as she landed, out of breath. "Dad, Pa, something's wrong with Dimitri he won't open the door and I think he's hurt" she sniffled and the two of us sprinted up the stairs. "Dimitri, buddy you okay in there" Dante asked knocking on the door slightly. "Nekoette, please tell everyone to leave. And tell them I will call them later" I explain resting my hands on her shoulders. Her amber eyes filled with tears as she pranced to the living room. "Dante, move" I shove him reaching for the key above the door. Unlocking the door felt as if it took centuries when it was only a few seconds.
The blue haired boy lay quiet on the white tile. A orange bottle clenched between his bruised fingers. "Dante, call 911" I shout placing my fingers against the weak boy's pulse. I rested my forehead against his, tears threatening to spill from my eyes. I was dragged out of the bathroom by strong arms. The bluenette who I've come to love over these few years held me close to his chest. "He's strong Vylad, he'll be just fine" Dante cooed words of affection. Paramedics dragged out my boy who was once so full of spunk, and life. I couldn't bare the sight.
Three hours, three god damn hours till we could see him. I held Nekoette close as we walked into Dimitri's room. "Dad" Dimitri mumbled as Dante rested a hand on his shoulder. "Hey my little soldier, how you've been" He cooed and I smiled a bit. "Absolutely horrid" Dimitri chuckled and a short blond boy came sprinting into the room. "Dimitri" the small boy who I recognized as Kyle shouted. Kyle was wearing his now muddy baseball uniform, and his glasses rested crooked on his nose. "Kyle, short stop how've you been" Dimitri chuckled as Kyle peppered his face with kisses.
"Never do that to me again, pitcher" The blond boy rested his head against the bluenette forehead.
"Ha, gay" Nekoette chuckled earning her a light shove. "Irene, I love you guys" Dante smiled planting a kiss to Nekoette's head. A quiet purr erupting from her lips.
My crazy stupid family, gotta love them.
