I walk to the visitation room and the guard in front of me opens the door.

"you're at window 2." he tells me pointing to the empty Window with a stool placed in front.

I look upon the few men who have people coming to visit them. some have wives, others have children visiting them.

me? I have no idea who the hell came to visit me.

has my father realized he cares? has my mother come back from the dead? is my old landlord still giving my shit about not paying rent in time?

but when I sit at the stool and look at the window in front of me I see a man I've never met before.

and he's not that bad looking.

he's wearing a gray blazer with a white undershirt and an odd looking bow tie.

I can't see his face because he's looking down and cleaning his glasses, and once he realizes I'm here and puts them on his face, I can swear he's one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen.

he picks up the receiver so we can talk though the glass without the other background noises distracting us.

I pick up my recover and I'm the first one to speak.

"look buddy, i think you've got the wrong guy."

he looks at his paperwork spread across his small counter space in front of him and then says, "are you mister.. George Ross?" he asks me.

"it's Ryan, but yes, that's me."

"oh go by your middle name, that's cute." he chuckles.

"look, I have no idea who you are or what you want from me so could you just explain already?" I ask with an irritated voice.

"oh right! yes," he clears his throat, "I'm Brendon Urie and I will be representing you in your upcoming court case." he smiles brightly.

he seems way too happy to be a lawyer.

"so you're my lawyer?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"yes sir!" he says with a big smile plastered across his face.

"so when's the case?" I asked not really caring.

mr. Urie looks down at his paperwork, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "the.. twelfth of March." he smiles looking back up at me.

"so, mr. Urie, wh-"

"oh please, just call me Brendon."

"right.. Brendon. why'd you choose to represent me?" I ask.

"oh, I didn't choose." he explains, "I was assigned to you, you're actually my first real client."

I am shocked. "wait, so, you're an amateur?"

he nods reluctantly, "but I promised I graduated law school." his smile drops and he rubs his bare ring finger, "I made a lot of sacrifices for this degree.." he says coldly, "so you're gonna have me whether you like it or not, and I promise your mr. Ross, I'm gonna get you out." he smiles.

I give no expression, "how would you feel if I told you I really don't want to get out?"

he looked confused, "wow, a prisoner who doesn't want to get out. don't think I've ever seen one of those."

"well, I've got no where else to go. at least here I'm not homeless."

he clears his throat, "mr. Ross, you're here because you did a crime. I hope you're satisfied with the fact that, this is going to live with you for the rest of your life." he smirks, I guess trying to convince me.

I raise an eyebrow once again, "I did it for a good cause." I say trying not to get defensive.

he nods like he doesn't believe me, "that's what they all say mr. Ross." he chuckles as he rests the receiver between his cheek and his shoulder as he begins gathering all his belongings.

"awe, you're leaving me already?" I say sarcastically.

"look buddy, I'm not here to be your friend, I'm here on business. so could you please try to be professional?" he sighs irritated.

I raise my one free hand in defense. didn't expect a man so small to have an attitude that big.

"look, I'm late for something. I'll see you next week and we'll talk more then, okay?" he said closing his briefcase.

I shrug, "fine."

"20 minutes." the guard announces to the room.

"wait, before you leave, tell me about yourself." I ask quickly, lamenting my words.

Brendon looks confused, "um mr. Ross, like I said, we're just here on business."

"well we've got 20 minutes and if we're gonna be spending a lot of time together, I'd like to get to know you."

okay the truth is, the guy is cute. I like to get to know cute guys.

"all you need to know about me is that I'm your lawyer and I care about my work. thank you." he hung up the receiver and stood up, straightening his shirt, and proceeded to walk out.

playing hard to get I see. I always like a challenge.
