"We're opening tomorrow night at Busters,"

His hands clutched the steering wheel of the red mustang we were in and the cool breeze made me shiver.

"What? that's crazy!"

I exclaimed not understanding why he hadn't cracked a smile yet or removed his hands from the wheel.

"Why aren't you excited. This is huge for you guys,"

My body turned towards his
But his eyes were still connected to the windshield

So I placed my hand
On his knee

Which made him turn towards me,
And his eyes twinkled for a split second and his hair looked darker.

"I don't know, anyone would be lucky but I feel like..."

"Like your not good enough."

His head turned back facing the windshield watching the still wipers as the silent night air draped over us.

"Well, I think you are the nicest, sweetest, and cutest lead band singer in all of Scranton.

And I think that your voice sounds like velvet and smooth chocolate.
And I think that one day everyone will know your name but all you have to do is know that you are one hell of a badass
With nice hair."

I smiled at the end unable to control myself

Because he smiled too

And it was so beautiful just like I remembered.

"I sometimes wonder why you stuck around this long with me,"

He looked at the logo of the steering wheel as his head tilted downwards.

"Ehhh I've been through worse,"

This made him laugh,
Which made me laugh.

And when he looked over at me I felt my heart sink to the bottom of my stomach and could see every speck of green in his chocolate eyes.

"god, your so beautiful."

"....."

I wanted to run.

"Thank you, your beautiful too."

He laughed and his hair flopped in his face again

But I was serious when I said those last words.

Everything about him was beautiful, everything down to the way he called me 'sweetheart'.

"Let me show you something, wait right there, angel."

My cheeks felt like the hottest day In Virginia, and I couldn't think or process anything that happened,

Except hear the side of his door open and soon after a cool

Breeze hit the side of my face.

He held out his hand as I stepped out of the car, and he closed it behind me.

"When I was 10, I remember coming down here and writing my first song, it was about a girl name Lucy who broke my heart."

I smiled.

"And I wanted to share this place with you because I couldn't think of a place more beautiful than you, and this was the closest place I could find."

I wanted to cry, and laugh, and smile, and run all at the same time.

And that feeling made me feel like the world was spinning until he grabbed my hand and led me to the soft grass that was on his lawn.

So we laid down underneath the stars and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen,
And as I remembered what he said, I laughed at how far off he was,
Because a boy who ever thought I was as beautiful as a winter night sky, was crazy, or in love.

And we were just friends.
And I was fine with that.

"Thank your for this."

The sky was painted with hues of purples, blues, oranges, and pinks.

And the moon was bright just like his eyes.

"I'd do anything for you ada."
So he pulled me close to him

So my head rested on his chest and my hand on his torso.

And in that moment everything was clear like a spring morning,
And In That moment everything felt alright.

And in That moment I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world.
