It was a week later, and I was on my way to Regina's classroom. It's quite obvious that she likes me as much as Ingrid and Ruby think she does. Of course, I haven't asked her out yet. I'm planning on maybe asking her today.
Oh, and Regina also got me a cell phone. It's a Galaxy S7 Edge. I don't really see the need for one, but I appreciate the gesture nonetheless. She also put her phone number in the contacts before she actually gave it to me. If that's not obvious, then I don't know what is.
I walked into class, and sat down at my desk. She was in her office, so I decided I would text Ruby.
Hey, I think I'm gonna ask her today...- D
Of course, she replied right away.
Oh my god, when today?! You have to tell me how it goes! You're finally asking her!😲😍😁😵❤- R
I will. I'm going to her house after school today. She just doesn't know it yet. Anyway, I'll tell you how it goes tomorrow.- D
Ok. I'll talk to you later. - R
I look up from my phone to see Regina at her desk, smiling at me. I smile at her and say "hi. I didn't notice you come in."
"It's alright, dear. I know you're still figuring things out on that phone."
Finally the bell rang, and students started coming in and sitting at their desks. Usually, Ruby is one of the first to get to class, surprisingly. That's probably because she wants more time to pass notes with me so she can ask me about Regina.
A few minutes later, the tardy bell rang, and Ruby still wasn't here. I guess she decided to skip class today. Apparently we were watching a movie in Regina's class today. So I just sat in my desk and stared at her most of the time. Halfway through the class, she looked at me. So I looked down at my phone in my lap and decided to text Regina. She'll be so surprised, because she doesn't know I can text.
Hey, I was wondering if I could come with you to your place after school today. I also wanted to ask you something.- D
I looked up to see her pick up her phone. She looked at me with a surprised look on her face. I just smiled at her.
Sure. I didn't know you could text. And what did you want to ask me dear?- R
Of course I can text. I know more than you think I do. And you'll just have to wait and find out. 😉- D
Alright fine. Now get off your phone and pay attention to the movie.- R
Fine. I will. 😋😝- D
I put my phone away and looked up to see her glaring at me. I just looked at her and shrugged. She looked back at the movie. I looked at her for the rest of the class. The bell rang, and I slowly packed my things up. I got up and there was no one in the room but Regina and I. She walked over to me and gave me a hug.
"I'll see you here after school dear" she whispered into my ear.
"Okay, see you later."
She let go of me and I went to my next class. The rest of the day was pretty much the same as always. I went to my other classes, skipped lunch, and went to choir. It was the same as usual, except Ruby wasn't there to squeal in excitement when Regina and I looked at each other.
I guess I'm kind of okay with her doing that. I just wish she actually went to school today. I laughed to myself. She's probably going to chewed out by Regina if I tell her why Ruby wasn't at school.
I got to Regina's classroom, and found she wasn't in there as usual. She's mostly in her office before and after classes. So I walk into her office to find her standing in front of the door, ready to leave.
"I see you're ready to leave right on time" I said to her.
"Yep. Shall we go?" She asked, as she held out an arm for me to hold onto.
"We shall."
I smile as I take her arm. I figured it would be okay, since there aren't any cameras in the school, and no one was in the hallways. They wouldn't care to look through the windows on their classroom doors.
We got to her car. I got in on the passenger side, and she got in and started the car. We were soon out of the parking lot. Most of the ride to her house was silent. I just didn't know what to say.
I knew if I said anything, I would end up blurting out the fact that I'm a vampire. I would also end up asking her out right after that. I wanted to give her some time to think about it. All of it. Me being a vampire. Also, the fact that I'm asking her out.
I didn't notice that I had zoned out until I was sitting in her driveway. She came to my side and opened the door for me. I looked up at her and she just smiled and asked, "Are you alright dear?"
"Oh, I'm fine. I was just... thinking..."
I got out of the car and she shut the door. She put her hand on my back and led me to the front door. She got her keys out and unlocked the door. She led me into the foyer, and put up her bag. She turned to me and said, "You can put your bag down, dear. You can take off your shoes. Make yourself at home."
So I did. I put down my bag, and took my shoes off. I followed Regina to the living room and we sat on the couch, her at one end, and me on the other. She scooched herself over so she was right by me, and put a hand on my knee.
She looked me in the eyes and said, "now. What did you want to tell me?"
"Well. It's something important. And it might scare you away. Please, just don't freak out. Okay?"
"Of course. I'll listen to whatever you have to tell me."
"Okay. Well, I'm a vampire. I was born this way. I'm going to stop growing, and aging when I turn eighteen."
She just looked at me for a minute. She didn't say anything. She just stared at me. I was beginning to think I shouldn't have told her yet. I thought maybe I've scared her and she won't want to go out with me now. She surprised me though, because a smile starts to grow on her face.
"Dear, I already knew. I just wanted to wait for you to tell me yourself."
"You did? How?"
"I've done my research. And I'm not scared of you. You won't hurt me. I know you won't. Now, you said you wanted to ask me something?"
"Um, yeah," I started as I scratched the back of my neck," I was wondering... if you wanted to, uh... go out with me..?"
It was silent for a moment. When I looked up at her, I heard the most wonderful thing.
"Yes. I would love to go out with you, Danielle."
In her eyes, I saw the most beautiful thing. Love.
