TW: War, violence, rape, murder, terrorism, death, genocide
Syria has been in conflict since 2011, everyday hundreds of lives are gone, and now the people in Aleppo are awaiting their deaths as a huge massacre is expected to take place.
Why is it that the world can stand together and mourn for first world countries which were attacked w acts of terrorism, yet we remain silent when in the past years, lives in Syria have been taken and people live in fear? Imagine the situation they are in right now, afraid that their lives could be taken any second. Afraid to go out, afraid to exist. People are being killed, women are being raped, a genocide is happening before our very eyes and yet no news coverage of them, no social media coverage either. We remain silent as people's lives are in danger.
There are ways we can help those in Aleppo, there are organisations we can donate to. If you can't donate for whatever reason, it's fine. But please use the voice you have on social media to talk about Aleppo. Do not let the people living there be forgotten. Do not let their sufferings go unheard. Raise awareness about them to friends and family, ask people to donate if they can. Appeal to the politicians in your country to actually offer aid to those in Aleppo rather than just condemning it.

If you are unable to do any of these things, at least keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Read up on articles about what is going on in Aleppo, share those articles on any SNS you have, mourn for those who are suffering, don't neglect any of this, don't turn a blind eye. Mourn for them like you did for Paris and New York. What is happening in Syria is a humanitarian crisis, a genocide, it is disgusting, unfair and cruel and we shouldn't keep our mouths shut about it. Please stand with Aleppo. Please.
