Sunday night came around all too fast – considering I was grounded, because usually, it drags!  I was absolutely dreading getting up out of bed in the morning to go to school and face everyone.  Hopefully I was just worrying about nothing.  With still no news on the missing $25, Mum had just put it down to miscounting the money prior to sealing it in plastic bags, because she trusts me wholeheartedly – she knows I wouldn’t steal from her.

But, sure as eggs, word soon got out to the whole world about me!  The media may as well just blurt it out on national TV!  Nah, not really the whole world, but most people in Charmingdale High and Yarris Park – and all those who have friends on their friends list who also happen to be on-line at the time, also received a copy.  And, you didn’t even have to be on Facebook to have known about it.  Especially when word got out to the likes of Sally Eggface and Moon-boy Preston!

I was receiving certain types of glares and stares from people who normally would just ignore me, and those who didn’t know me before, now knew who I was, my name and what I did.  I would hate to think what people were writing about me on Facebook!  Call me paranoid, but I am certain that everyone was staring at me as I cautiously made my way through the locker cage… and there, standing in front of our locker as if to block it from me using it, was Lisa.  In fact, she had pulled all of my stuff out of the locker and threw it all on the ground!  Now what was I supposed to do?

‘And here she is!’ Lisa called out sarcastically.  Boy! Was I surprised to see Lisa and the vampire slayers waiting for me outside my locker.  And straight away, Barbie came bounding right up to me and pushed me up against the lockers.

‘Who do you think you are, saying all those things about us?  Huh?’  She was angry!  ‘Fight you tonight after school?’

Huh?  Was she saying what I thought she was saying?

‘Well?’ she demanded an answer as she pushed me a second time up against the lockers.  ‘Fight you tonight after school?’

I felt so embarrassed as everyone around had stopped and watched to see what was going on.  I didn’t want to have a fight after school today, so I just said no, sorry, too busy after school, take a number ‘cos I’m already booked for another fight with someone else

‘No…I don’t want to fight.   I’m sorry about what I said on Facebook, I didn’t mean for you to see it – I didn’t mean to write it at all!’ I pleaded.

‘Chicken!  Whimp!  You’re a coward!  You’re a whimp and a coward!’ Barbie said as she backed off, ‘some friend you turned out to be!’

Well, what did I expect?  If I choose to put in writing, dammit, mean and nasty things about people, I have to expect the consequences.  In this case, major consequences were in store for me.  I had to do something to make them like me again… but what?  Then I just remembered.

‘Here!  Here’s your $25 I owe you.’ I said to Lisa as I pulled the money out of my jacket pocket and handed it to her.  She did not expect that so soon!

‘Whatever!’ She said as she accepted the cash.  That was a nice ‘whatever’, maybe she’s warming up to me now.

But alas, I got down on my hands and knees to retrieve everything belonging to me that Lisa had thrown out of the locker and onto the ground.  I kind of felt like a Peasant woman scavenging rice and seeds from the fields.  I was just waiting for someone to kick me while I was down.
