chapter 41

" Daniel ? " i hear a voice coming from behind me say .

I look back and see Riley standing there . She looked so sad .

" Riley ? what are you doing here ? " i say as i try not to make eye contact with her .

" Your mom called me to see if you were at my house , she noticed that you ran away "

" What did you tell her ? "

" I i told her that you weren't at my house and i asked if you had told her that we broke up .. "

" oh , so why are you here again ? "

" because , once she said you ran away i automatically knew you would be here , you always come here to hide away . " Riley says looking into my eyes .

Damn how bad i wanted to kiss her . i quickly snapped out of it .

" Daniel ... " She says as she looks down at my uncovered wrist .

i didn't say anything , i just starred at it and began to cry . She wrapped her arms around me and whispered in my ear .

" Why did you do this ... again . whats wrong "
She say as she wipes my tears .

" Riley , just the idea of me having to move so far from all my friends and i barley know my dad . I liked living here alone , since my mom is never here . And because , i miss you . i miss being with you . "

" oh daniel " Riley says not knowing what to say .

About five minutes later

We are sitting here and i see a van pull up . one just like my moms , damn it was my mom .

I quickly grab my bag and start running the opposite way . Riley walked over to my moms van , not coming with me . I kept running and running until i couldn't see her anymore , I was hiding in a tree . A couple hours later i decided to walk back home . As im walking i hear a voice behind me .

" Hey cutie . " Says a girl from behind me .

I didn't respond .

" oh so you're playing hard to get " She says as she smirks .

i kept walking hoping she would give up . I couldn't fall for someone . I'm still in love with Riley . Turns out , she ended up following me home . Once i was finally at my porch i looked back and said . " What do you want "

" oh so you do talk , "

" what do you want , seriously why are you following me "

" i'm just trying to talk to you , I want to get to know you . "

" i'm sorry , i can't , I have a girlfriend . " i say as i open the door to see my mom and Riley sitting right there .  Damn i think Riley heard me say that .

Riley's P O V

Did Daniel just say he has a girlfriend ?
" he has a girlfriend? " i say as i whisper to mrs. skye ( daniels mom ) .

" not that i know of " she replys confused .

Daniel quickly closed the door and runs up stairs before his mom could stop him .

" DANIEL COME HERE "

he slowly walks downstairs and just stands there .

" what ? " he says as he sits on the stairs.

" come here "

he slowly walks down and sits next to her .
he's trying to hold in his tears but he couldnt .

" daniel , you need to stop doing this stuff to me "

" mom , i'm going thru alot right now . when i run off i always come back , i just needed some air . "

" daniel , the cutting . "

" so ? dont worry about it "

" daniel i do , i do worry . i go to work everyday praying that when i come home you wont be dead "

daniel just looked down and didnt say anything .  

i started crying . i was also very worried about him .
" daniel please " i say struggling .
he got up and sat by me , i leaned over and hugged him .

" do you guys need water or anything ? " daniels mom says getting up trying to excuse herself to cry . we nod our heads " no thanks " .
i looked back at daniel and he looked at me in the eyes . damn . why did i hurt him ... agaim .
