L: What?? Why not???
M: Your father is having...one of 'those' nights.
L: Oh..okay..could I stay at a friend's house..?
M: Sure, just stay safe. For me.
L: Okay, bye Mom. Stay safe, call me if you need anything.
M: He's back. Bye, love you.
L: Love you too..

Peridot's POV:
Lapis looks down and rubs her arm.
"Hey, you okay..?" I ask her. She looks like she just saw a ghost or something...
She perks her head up and gives me a faint smile. "Y-yeah.! I'm fine, also..um..can I stay over night..?"
I haven't cleaned yet but it'd be rude to decline..."Sure, lemme just get some clothes for you to wear.
"T-thanks, Peri.."
I start walking upstairs. There must be something wrong. She never stutter and she looks really bummed out. Maybe something happened back at her home? I'm not sure.
I grab some clothes and walk back downstairs, I hand the clothes to Lapis.
"Here ya go..!" I give her a smile to cheer her up.
"Thanks, Peri.." She smiles back, but as if someone sucked her soul out of her.
There was a long silence after that.
Well this is awkward. Maybe she wants to watch a movie..? "Hey, wanna watch a movie?"
She looks at me and smiles faintly, "Sure..what movie..?"
"How about a horror movie?" I suggest.
"Sure!" She says enthusiastically.
She seems happy again. I want to do this all the time. I want to make her happy.
