It was three in the morning and Kira and Ryland had finally shown up. Ryland came through the doors with Kira's arm wrapped around his neck. Once Kira caught sight of Valentine and me in the lobby, she released her support of Ryland and ran straight for me. Before I could prepare myself for her soft tackle, her arms were already around my neck. Luckily Kira didn't tackle me hard enough to knock us both down along with the chair.

"August I think I had a little bit too much to drink." Kira said as she hiccupped.

"I can see that." I said while trying to hold back my laughter.

"Well that's what happens when you have fun!" Next thing I knew Kira was crying into my neck. That was when I realized that Kira was the bi-polar drunk.

"I missed you much!" Suddenly my neck was drenched in tears because of Kira's over exaggerated crying. Her crying was then cured with a hiccup. Kira's tears were instantly dried from her face and she was back to smiling.

"Kira are you okay?" I asked.

"Clearly she's not. She's intoxicated." Ryland said a little rudely. Kira walked over to Ryland, she weakly slapped him.

"Don't be rude to my brother." She said seriously through her drunkenness. Ryland simply looked at her without emotion. He walked up the stairs leaving us three alone.

"Kira do you need me to help you to your bed?" I asked concerned for my sister.

"NO!" Kira shouted unnecessarily. "I'm a big girl! I can make it myself!" Valentine and I watched as Kira stumbled up the stairs. She fell a few times but eventually she made it up to her room. Valentine and I looked at each other.

"Well that solves our escape plan." He said plainly with the usual smile.

"And how's that?"

"Well Ryland couldn't care less what we did with our lives. Kira was the only problem and she's drunk out of her mind. All we got to do is write her a note lying about where we went and she'll be fine."

"You sure that'll work." I asked skeptically.

"Trust me!" Valentine winked as he threw me the keys to the car. "Go warm up the car while I get us some more jackets." Valentine jumped up and ran up the stairs.

The very second I stepped out the doors snow was blown into my face. I raced to the car as fast as I could, unlocked the passenger door, and threw myself into the car. After I unnecessarily slammed the door shut, a little snow managed to slip inside and find a home on my cheek. I reached over and put the key in the ignition and started the car. Instantly hot air blew in face, it was such a relief. I sat in the car for a few minutes before Valentine hopped into the driver's side.

"Woo! It's extremely cold!" Valentine exclaimed the obvious.

"Is it always this cold in winter?" I asked as my teeth stopped chattering.

"Yeah but demon fighting keeps you warm." Valentine smiled. He backed the car out of the driveway and we were on our way to the address.

...

A half hour had gone been in complete silence. The music on the radio was the only source of sound. Without that I would've been driven mad. I stared out the window as we continued on in silence. The trees went on in a blur and the cars passed by quickly as if Valentine was racing them. I looked at the time on the radio. 3:30 am and I still hadn't slept. As if on cue I yawned furiously. Valentine laughed at me as I yawned.
