This is it. Thanks for reading these.

You walked up to Newt's bed, and sat on the edge. He looked at you, but you couldn't tell what he was thinking. "Um...how are you feeling?"
"I'm better, the cure is working. They said I could be mostly healed in a couple weeks. But..."
"But...?"
"But I'm never going to be fully cured." He looked so sad, almost as sad as when he discovered that there was no way out of the maze. "I'll be able to leave quarantine in three days, because I'll be cured enough."
You wanted thing to be back to normal. You wanted to rest your head on his chest, and doze off. You wanted to see him and know when you get close enough, he'll give you the warmest hug. You wanted...you wanted him back.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
"No. I'm sorry for everything. For not being there to help you through the flare, for not knowing what to do, and because I lost you. I don't want to lose you again. I missed you, I miss you."
His eyes were full of sorrow, did he hate you? You just wanted him to say something. The seconds ticked away like hours. Even though it felted like years, moments later, he answered.
"I—I I just don't know. You didn't kill me, then you left me. I was alone. Gone and alone. I loved you—love you still, but you can't just undo those things. "
You nodded, but refused to believe what he was saying. "What can I do? I need you."
He just looked away, and you took his hand in yours. "I will do anything. I almost died trying to save you these past days. I need you. When we left you there, I died. When I learned I might never see you again, I suffered the most pain I'd ever felt. Tell me what I need to do."
You almost continued begging, but he cut you off when he sprang up, wrapping his arms around you. His warm body felt so good. Your head was resting on his shoulder. When he pulled away, his eyes were bright and happy. Maybe you'd be together after all.

A few months later.

Newt walked over to you, and stopped with a big grin on his face. "What are you so happy about?"
"I'm cured. I went in yo get tested, and I don't have the flare. The cure really worked."
He was beaming, but you weren't sure if it was possible. "There's no more side effects?"
"None. I haven't had any for weeks. I'm better." Thomas appeared behind him, and nodded. Newt really was cured. This was amazing.
Lately, you guys were getting back to normal, but right when you think it's going good, something clicks and it's like it restarts. All the progress you make disappears.
"Hey. How are you mentally?" You weren't sure how he would react, but you had to know what he'd been thinking.
"Honestly, I don't know. I'm happy one minute, then I remember everything in flashes and I'm sad again. It's almost too much to think about."
Tears formed in his eyes, but he refused to let them fall. It didn't matter if things would go back to normal, because he was safe and you all would stay safe. Your thoughts consumed you, so much that you didn't even realize he had put his hands on your waist and was pulling you into a kiss. His lips were on yours and both of you were smiling into the kiss, and you wrapped your arms around his neck, making him pull you closer.
He was safe, and things were better than normal.

Sorry about how crappy this was but I tried.
