Lilith Ra P.O.V
Evelyn.
"Eve, is that you?" I asked, my voice trembling as I saw my little sister. Her long, dark blonde hair cascaded down her back, shimmering in the light. Her hazel eyes, flecked with emerald green, lit up with her wide, innocent smile.
I rushed towards her, wrapping her in a tight embrace. I had missed her so much.
"But how? How did you escape?" I asked, my heart pounding with relief and confusion.
"I didn't. Save me," she said suddenly, her face contorting into a frown.
"What?" I was completely bewildered.
"Save me, sis." she cried out, her voice breaking into a sob.
Before I could react, everything around me plunged into darkness. Evelyn was being pulled away, and I ran after her, desperation clawing at my chest. "No!" I shouted, but her figure receded into the shadows.
"No. No. Please no!" My pleas echoed in the void as a sharp pain twisted in my stomach.
"I'm scared." she whispered, her voice fading into the dark.
I tried to open my eyes, but the brightness was overwhelming. As I adjusted, I found myself in a stark white room. Gabriel was slumped in a chair across the room, asleep.
I attempted to speak, but no sound came out. My throat felt parched, as if a desert had taken root there. I reached for the water jug on the nightstand, but it was too far. My movements stirred Gabriel awake.
He sprang to his feet, his eyes wide with concern. He poured a glass of water and hurried to me, helping me sit up. The pain in my abdomen flared with every movement, making me wince. Gabriel's hands were gentle but firm as he propped me up and handed me the glass.
I drank greedily, not caring about manners. I passed the glass back, signaling for more. Gabriel quickly refilled it, and I drank again, savoring the relief the water brought to my dry throat.
Once satisfied, I placed the glass back on the table. "I-I need to go." I said, struggling to get out of bed.
"No." Gabriel said firmly, blocking my way. "You're not in any condition to walk."
"I don't care." I insisted, my voice sharp. "You wouldn't understand."
"I do understand," Gabriel began.
"No, you don't. You've never had a sibling, so you can't understand the responsibility." I retorted, trying to push him away despite the pain shooting through my abdomen.
"I do have a sibling," he said, his tone steady.
"What?" I shot him a disbelieving look. "You're lying."
"You're wrong. I really do," he said, his frustration evident.
"Lucifer?" I asked, my sarcasm dripping. "Lucifer doesn't have a brother. I know him well enough."
Gabriel sighed, annoyance flashing across his face. "You're not going anywhere."
"Try me." I challenged, glaring at him.
With a low growl, Gabriel scooped me up and gently placed me back on the bed. I tried to punch him, but the pain immobilized me.
"Why are you doing this?" I demanded, my voice cracking with frustration.
"Fine. If what you say is true, would you just sit here while your brother isn't safe?" I asked, my voice trembling with desperation.
"I know he'll be fine." Gabriel said firmly.
