Lucifer Zades P.O.V
This couldn't get any more humiliating. Here I was, squashed in the back of a Porsche like a child being chauffeured around, while Octavius commandeered the wheel with an air of smug satisfaction.
I sat in the middle seat, gnawing on the inside of my cheek, frustration mounting with every passing second. "You know, I don't get why you're driving when I'm the one who knows where we're headed." I grumbled.
"That's why we brought you along." Octavius said with a self-satisfied smirk. "Personal navigator, remember?"
"Yeah, well, at the rate you're driving, we'll get there tomorrow." I huffed, eyeing the speedometer with growing irritation.
Zachary, ever the loyal sidekick, chimed in, "He's driving within the speed limit, you know."
I shot him a sharp look. "You think my brother would be driving within the speed limit too?" I scoffed. "I bet he's tearing down the road at breakneck speed. We probably should have just hitched a ride with him. Knowing him, he's already an hour ahead of us."
Octavius shot me an amused glance through the rearview mirror. "You're just going to have to be patient. We'll get there in time."
I groaned, sinking further into the back seat. The thought of my brother potentially being so far ahead only added to my anxiety. If he had a head start, we might be racing against time, not just distance.
As the car continued its steady pace, I glanced out the window, the landscape blurring by. The frustration was palpable, but it was mingled with a sense of urgency. I had to get there. Had to catch up before it was too late.
Adamone Levi P.O.V
"Can you be any more slow?" I groaned from the passenger seat, my patience fraying. Gabriel's driving was so painfully slow, it was unbearable.
"Why, so we can get ourselves killed?" Gabriel retorted, a touch of annoyance creeping into his voice.
Seriously?
He was crawling along at 80 km/h in a 110 km/h zone. It was maddening.
"I'm sorry, Lilith, but at this pace, your sister might be dead by now." I blurted out, the tension making me lash out. Lilith's low growl from the back seat was a clear warning.
"Adam!" Gabriel shouted, his irritation palpable.
"Yes, that's my name. Thanks for repeating it for the zillionth time." I snapped back, rolling my eyes.
Gabriel turned to Lilith. "Are we close?"
"Take a left." Lilith responded curtly.
"That wasn't the answer he as—" I began, but Gabriel cut me off with a shush.
I shot him a glare. Bros before hoes?
This was turning into a mess. Here we were, debating directions while racing against the clock to find a girl who might already be dead.
"I think your sister drives more aggressively than you." I remarked, trying to lighten the mood.
Gabriel chuckled. "Yeah right. Gabriella? She's slow as a snail."
I laughed out loud. "Have you ever been with her when she drove?"
"Plenty of times." Gabriel replied, seemingly oblivious to the implications.
I smiled. Guess he didn't know everything about her.
"When is she coming back, by the way?" I asked, glancing at Gabriel. It had been quite a while.
