I didn't know what but there was something calming about these waves. Sitting with jeans rolled up legs under warm water always brought solace and a feeling of home. We would always sit like this for hours talking about his new fling or my yet another crush... I chuckled lightly at this memory as a stray tear rolled down my cheek.
But this was just too good to last. I should have known it before. As always nothing good was made for me. He knew he was the best thing that happened still he left me heartbroken with pieces that could never be put together.
I checked my cellphone to see it was well past 6 in evening. 7 missed calls from mom. "Shit! I am dead meat today.Good work Jane!" Cursing slightly and brushing the sand off my jeans I got up to head back home.
Giving a last glance to the vast ocean with the gentle waves crashing against the shore I revved up my car's engine and left for my home.
