Violet had just about finished her Pride & Prejudice paper when the door to her dorm opened and Elizabeth came in.

"Hi Lizzie," she greet her with a smile and shut her laptop.

"Hello, little miss promiscuous!" Lizzie replies and wiggles her eyebrows at Violet.

"What are you on about?" Violet groans, shoving her laptop down to the foot of her bed.

"Clarissa told me you were at the bakery with Liam Payne!" Lizzie squeals. "Why didn't you tell me you had a date today?!" She questions.

"It was not a date!" Violet defends herself, but she feels heat rushing to her cheeks and she know she’s blushing.

"He paid for you! She told me he paid for you!" Lizzie yells, pointing at her blushing face. "That so makes it a date!"

"He only paid because I was taking too long to get out my money!" Violet tells her and Lizzie rolls her eyes. "I just met him last week. It's not like that at all."

"Oh, bullshit, Violet!" She calls Violet out with a laugh and places her hands on her hips. "You never hangout with guys! And Liam Payne is, like, the sweetest guy on campus. You should be proud to go on a date with him!"

"Lizzie, it. was. not. a. date!" Violet tells her, emphasizing each word slowly and clearly. "All he did was offer me a job at his uncle's record shop and afterward we went to the bakery quickly because I told him how good it was there! He drove me back to campus and that's it. Nothing even happened."

"So you're telling me he didn't even ask for your number?" Her eyes narrow as she asks Violet the question.

"He - well, he did, but not for what you think!" Violet says, and Lizzie just shakes her head with a smirk. "It was only to tell me my shifts."

"Oh, sure! Of course he's going to say that's what he wants it for!" She says and looks at Violet like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"You've gone mad." Violet tells her, and flops down onto her pillow.

"Oh - !" She exclaims, and Violet sits up again. "And what about Louis?"

"Louis?"

"Yeah, Louis! Alex's friend, the one I introduced to you at his party!"

Oh, Violet had forgotten about him. "What about him?"

"He told Alex you've been ignoring his texts. What is that about?" Violet doesn't say anything. Violet was worried this might happen. "Why won't you talk to him?" Nothing. "Violet!" She gasps, and Violet purses her lips. "Oh my God, you gave him a fake number, didn't you?! Violet!"

"I'm sorry!"

"Why would you do that?!" She asks incredulously, taking a seat on her bed.

"He was just so confident and it intimidated me!" Violet says, and Lizzie laughs at her. She laughs! "Lizzie! It's not funny! He tried to hold my hand!"

"Oh no, not hand holding! Before marriage?!" She says sarcastically and Violet glares at her. "Violet, trust me. Louis is nothing but a gentleman. He would never try anything with you. In fact, he probably just wants to be friends with you!"

"I don't know, Lizzie... I'm not very good at making friends."

"Sure you are. I'm your friend, Clarissa is your friend, Liam is your friend." She drags out the last 'friend' to imply he was more than that. Violet lays back down, not wanting to discuss the subject any further. "Look Violet, either you text him with your real number or I'll text him and give it to him."
