"GUYS BACK OFF."

I push my way through the crowd of lacrosse players gathered around Coach Finstock, my brother right behind me.

"You can get your gear tomorrow. If anybody sees Garrett, you notify the police immediately.
Then tell him he's off the damn team!"

I smirk as the door shuts, effectively cutting off his voice. Scott was in the distance, talking with his dad, the FBI agent. I grab Liam's arm as he makes to approach them, subtly shaking my head. Scott and Agent McCall needed their moment.

I gazed around the hallway, using everything in my willpower to refrain from eavesdropping on the McCall's emotional discussion. It was none of my business. While I was looking, I caught sight of Deputy Jordan Parrish escorting a now conscious Violet in handcuffs.

She smirks at me as she passes, throwing a particularly smug look at the blood lines I hadn't cleaned yet. I hear Liam give a low growl, and grip his arm tighter, effectively cutting off the sound. I was still holding onto the hope that the Benefactor, whomever they are, didn't know that Liam was a werewolf, therefore keeping him off of the Deadpool. I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen to him.

Once Violet has passed us Dunbars, she's staring down Scott, and the look on her face has my hackles rising, a growl escaping my own throat, and causing Liam to shoot me a look.

"Hypocrite." he mumbles, and I squeeze his arm again, smirking when he winces.

"Jordan Parrish?" Violet reads the nametag  on Deputy Parrish's uniform, no doubt connecting it to his name on the Deadpool. That's another thing- What the hell is Deputy Parrish?

"Deputy Parrish." the cop corrects, and she just grins to herself.

Once Agent McCall heads over to investigate more into the new assassin, Liam and I approach the alpha, and he gives us a tired smile, his gaze lingering on my healed wound before shaking himself out of thought.

"Where's Kira?" he asks, and I try not to get jealous; Kira swings the other way.

"She took off. Stiles told her about Lydia cracking the second part of the Dead Pool." I respond, trying to stay nonchalant.

"Her mom's on it." Scott realizes, and I frown deeply at the thought.

"Everyone's on it." Liam adds to the conversation moodily. I could tell from the look on his face he had enough for today.

"You're not." Scott assures the beta, who looks troubled now.

"Not yet.  There's still another third, right?" he breathes, and I move my hand from his arm to his shoulders, rubbing them comfortingly.
