My Parents Double Life.

Chapter 10

“Done" I say as I look at the finished product of the layout of my bedroom and all the information for my party.

I walk out into the living area where my parents are watching TV.

"I’m done planning" I say to my parents happily.

“Ok tell us what you have planned for your room, bathroom and your party". My dad says smirking

“Ok well" I take in a deep breath before I start explaining.

“For my room I have drawn a design. I’m going to re-paint my walls light pink, have fluffy white carpet, have a light  that’s a chandelier, a double bed, a leopard print lounge chair, white curtains to hang on my window, black frames with all sorts of pictures in them, a little white table with a mirror and a pink cupboard”. I say puffed out of breath

“What about your bathroom?” My mum states.

“Well I was thinking about it and I thought my bathroom is alright so the money we save for the bathroom you can spend on the party and the bedroom”. I say grinning

“Ok” my parents say while nodding.

“And the party?” My mum asks

“Oh yes”. “For the theme the guests will wear clothes black and white and then I wear a colour. I will only be inviting 20 friends and some of them probably won’t be able to come. It will go from 6:00pm until 10:00pm and I will ask Kayden to borrow his mar key that he used for his birthday to set up outside. I will use portable tables and plastic chairs that we have in the garage to set up and then we will have some snack sand drinks to begin with than pizza for dinner that we will order.

“You seem pretty organised”. My dad states.

“Yep”.

“Well let’s work out how much this will cost”. My dad says grabbing the calculator.

“Ok”. My dad begins, the pink paint will cost $50, the double bed will cost $300, the carpet will cost $200, the light chandelier will cost $75, the lounge chair will cost $20, the curtains will cost $10, the frames will cost $5, the white table will cost $20 and the cupboard will cost $25.

“Yep ok”. I say

“Now the party the food and drinks plus the pizza shouldn’t cost anymore than $150” My dad says. “So all together it costs $855”.

“That’s pretty good” My mum says.

“So are you sure all of this is alright?” I ask my parents.

“Of course honey” My mum says grinning.

“Let’s order it now so that we can redo your room when you are at school.” My dad says grabbing his apple laptop.

“Finally all ordered”. My dad says as he logs of his laptop.

The internet kept dropping in and out so it took us longer than we expected.

“Well dinners ready” My mum states as she serves it down at the table. “Dig in”.

We all eat our dinner chatting about the party and the room.

“Yum, are you done Vanessa?” My dad asks me pointing at my plate.

“Yep” I reply wiping my mouth with my napkin.

My dad picks up all the plates and places them in the dishwasher.

“Its 7:00 do you want to watch a movie?” My mum asks

“Ok I will have a shower and get change into my pyjamas so we can watch it.”

“What do you want to watch?” I ask

“Up to you”

“We could have a Harry Potter marathon?”

“Ok”

After I had a shower, brushed my teeth and got changed into my pyjamas. I put some popcorn in the microwave and put the DVD in the player. I grabbed some blankets and chucked them on the lounge.

BEEP….BEEP….BEEP…..BEEP

I grab the popcorn out of the microwave and put it in a bowl.

“All ready?” My dad asks yep I say as I plunk myself on the lounge.

“Well let’s watch it” My mum says grabbing the popcorn from me.

I press play and watch the movie.
