I ran around my room packing everything I thought I would need. My dad helped me carry my luggage out, where I waited for toms car. I'm not going to lie I was scared I've never been out of Canada before especially without my dad. "Ellis remember what I told you" my dad says with soft eyes
"I will, and please call every night" I gave him a hug until we heard toms car pull up. He got out of the car and shook my dads hand also grabbing some of my luggage.
"Hey tom!" My dad calls "France plays tonight"
Tom smiled holding up his phone which had a notification reminder on his lock screen."How could I forget! I'll text you during the game Tim!" Tom yelled.
"Alright I'll be planning on it!" My dad said walking up to the house smiling.
In the car I put my sweatshirt on the moment I saw it start to rain. "I was thinking of stopping somewhere to get something to eat, are you in the mood for anything specific?" Tom said glancing over.
"You know what, I've been wanting noodles and company for awhile now!" I smiled.
"Great choice" Tom said turning on his turn signal.
After we ate, we would be on the road for most of the day. The airport was four hours away. And we'd arrive in Atlanta by 8:00 am. The car ride consisted of loud music, talking, laughing, and for me: sleeping.
"Harrison is going to meet us at the airport cause he decided to sleep in" Tom said laughing.
"Oh really? Was he up late!" I joked.
"Who knows" Tom says rolling his eyes as he takes a sip of iced tea. I went on my phone and update my friend B and I check social media, return a few snaps and then I must have fallen asleep.
"Ellis we're here" I felt someone sat as they shook my arm slightly. Stretching my arms I nodded as tom leaned over and kissed my forehead. It was dark out and I checked my phone, it was 7:30pm. Letting out a yawn, I stepped out of the car where tom was grabbing the luggage taking as many as I could hold and he took the rest of his.
"Hey love birds!" I hear a familiar voice approaching us.
"Hey Harrison!" I say giving him a hug. He smiled returning it.
"Decide to get out of bed?" Tom said teasing him.
"I actually didn't even sleep in, I just didn't want to ride in the back of your small car, so I took a uber!" Harrison replied laughing while Tom shook his head.As we walk in there are sorts of people, people crying and hugging their loved ones saying hello or their goodbyes, children running around and their parents trying to get in a quick nap, young couples anxiously looking at their flights and retired people with all sorts of souvenirs. I held my pillow under my arm and my luggage on the other hand, and looked around. I've never been on a plane before and I was very excited. Tom went over to the desk getting our tickets, While Harrison stood by me. "he really likes you" Harrison says looking at me
"Well I hope so, I'm moving across the country with him" I laughed. Harrison agreed then pointed at a old lady walking by "guess where she just got back from?" He glanced over to me waiting for my response. The old women wore a flower in her hair along with a tropical shirt and all sorts of Hawaiian bags.
"That's a hard one" I said sarcastically. "Hawaii?" I smiled."Alright guys here you go" Tom handed us our plane tickets, they were first class and unlike most people waiting, we boarded the plane right away.
I sat by Tom and Harrison was seated next to an old lady. Which tom continuously teased and took snapchat pictures of him. Harrison turned and giving us the finger as the old lady continued to converse with him. Tom leaned over the seat and whispered "I'd be carefully she seems like a bitter" he motioned to Harrison. Turning his head Harrison's looked at her pull out tray, she had dentures lying there. Tom laughed as he sat down again.
I looked out my window and saw we were starting to take off. Gripping toms sleeve with one hand and the other against the arm rest I sat super stiff in my seat. Tom giggled and wrapped his arm around me. "Don't worry it's normal to be nervous, I was when I first flew, and it's almost impossible for something to go wrong now a days everyone is trained so well and technology in these planes are excellent." Tom said pulling me even closer.
"You sure?" I said looking up at him.
"I know so" he reassured me.
"If it makes you feel better my mom would always tell me to look out the window and try to find Carebears" he smiled innocently.
I rolled my eyes and laughed "okay I'll let you know if I find any"
After a while I was used to the plane and its bumps, anyways I focused on solving a book of word searches. Grabbing a pretzel out of its bag I used my blue highlighter to highlight the words I found. Harrison was fast asleep and tom had his eyes shut listening to music. I finished my pretzels and leaned my head against the window trying to get comfortable enough to sleep. Grabbing my pillow, I positioned it against the window and curled up in my seat. After many attempts of sleeping I placed my pillow on toms lap and I rested my head there. Suddenly I felt him play with my hair again until I fell asleep.
TOMS POV
I listened to my music and looked straight ahead as Ellis laid in my lap asleep. An older couple sitting next to us across the walk way leaned over taping me on the shoulder."You guys are the cutest things I've ever seen" the lady said cheerfully smiling.
"Thank you" I smiled back, while the older man hands me a book. The older couple returns to talk to one another and after a few minutes I opened the book they gave me. inside there were more word searches, possibly 500. Glancing over to Ellis's word search book I flipped through the pages. she had finished every single one and to my surprise there had to have been hundreds of words on each. I smiled and looked down at Ellis in my lap fast asleep.
