Chapter 2

Later...

Brynn POV

I didn't like being kidnapped. I mean, who would? But I've accepted it for right now, and I've been having a lot of fun annoying the crap out of Riker. He's a good guy, and the worst he'll do is yell at me. But I can tell he's not really mad. The anger between us has sort of turned into joking around.

I was free to roam around the cabin. It was about 7:30 at night, and it was freezing cold outside. And since I didn't have a coat, and we were in the middle of nowhere, Riker figured I wouldn't be likely to escape. And I wasn't planning on it. Yet...

"BOO!" I screamed.

Riker jumped about a foot in the air.

"AH! Quit doing that!"

"The stop turning your back."

"You'd better watch it, or I'll lock you in the spider room."

"What if I locked you in the spider room?"

"I wouldn't like it very much."

I pushed his shoulder, and walked out of the room.

"Hey. Where are you going?"

"I don't know. Why?"

"Are you planning on trying to run away tonight?"

"No. It's cold out. Which reminds me... How long are you planning on keeping me here? Because I can't wear the same pair of clothes forever."

"Right... Uh... You can borrow some of mine."

He lightly put his hand behind my back, and led me to his room. He got me a pair of his sweatpants and a T-shirt. I changed in the bathroom. Riker changed in our room.

I came back into the room.

"So... I was thinking maybe I could go run out and get some food. And then maybe we can watch a movie or something."

"Riker, how long are you planning on staying here?"

"Until I figure out what to do..."

"My family is going to know something's up. And they've probably already called the police."

The color left Riker's face.

"Ok. I'm going to uh... I'm going to run out and get some food. You need to promise me that you won't try to escape or get help."

"No promises. I don't promise things."

"Ok. Well... I'm locking you in here until I get back. Do you need anything before I leave?"

"No."

"Ok."

"You're going in your pajamas?"

"Uh... Yeah. I don't care. I'll be back in like... An hour or two."

Riker slid on his shoes, and then locked me in the room. I slid under the blankets. I wasn't planning on sleeping, but it was really cold in here.

Later...

Brynn POV

It's been over 2 hours, and Riker still isn't back. I'm bored out of my mind. I don't like being kidnapped, but at least when Riker was here, I could have fun by annoying him.

I got out of bed, and started poking through Riker's stuff. I found a sweatshirt, which I put on since it was freezing in here.

I found clothes, a laptop that was out of battery, a phone charger, chapstick, and a belt. But he didn't have much else.

Where is he? It's getting colder by the minute.

I heard something outside, so I went to the window. I saw a car, which I think is Riker's.

Sure enough, Riker unlocked the door a few minutes later. He made us both dinner, and we ate together in the kitchen.

"Riker?"

"What?"

"Why can't you let me go?"

"Go where?"

"Home. And back to my boyfriend."

"That was your boyfriend?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"There is no way I'm letting you go back to that. He was going to take advantage of you!"

"Riker, I don't think he'd do that."

"I saw it. It was about to happen last night if I didn't do something."

"You can't keep me here forever, you know."

"I'm keeping you here until I figure out what to do."

"Which is when?"

"I don't know yet!"

He was clearly becoming annoyed, but I was annoyed with him. He's not very nice anymore.

I pushed my dinner away from myself, and got in my bed. But even under the covers, it was freezing cold in here.

The lights went on, and I saw Riker standing in the doorway.

"Hey. I'm sorry, ok? I'm not trying to make you upset or anything. I just don't know what to do," Riker said, looking guilty.

I turned away from him, and shut my eyes. I just want to go home.

"Listen. I'm sorry I saved you last night, ok? But I couldn't just sit there and watch something bad happen. I mean, do you do that with him when you're not drunk?"

"No..."

"I didn't think so. I just wanted to stop it before it happened. If something happened, and I knew that I could've stopped it, I would've felt so guilty, you don't even understand."

"I want to go home. Everyone probably called the police on you, and they're probably hunting you down, and then you'll go to jail and probably get beat up."

I heard him sigh, and then the lights went off. I heard him get into his own bed.

Well goodnight to you too...
