Chapter 4

Morning...

Brynn POV

I woke up, confused.

Riker's got his arms around me tight, and he's fast asleep. We're on the floor next to the almost burnt out fire.

I tried to get out of his arms, but I couldn't.

"Riker, wake up."

"Hmmm?"

"Wake up."

He opened his eyes. It took him a moment to realize everything. And when he did, he flinched back, taking his arms off me.

"Sorry... I-I uh... I don't know... um..."

"It's fine, Riker. But we should probably get the fire going again."

"Right..."

I shivered as I fixed the fire.

"You're taking me home today, right?" I asked.

"Yes..."

I scooched back towards Riker again after I'd finished fixing the fire.

"I say we go back to sleep," I said, laying down.

I grabbed Riker's arm, and pulled him down with me.

"Hold on. I just have to use the bathroom," he said, sitting up again.

He walked halfway to the bathroom, and then froze.

"Um... Brynn?"

"Yeah?"

"Uh... We might have to wait until tomorrow to go home."

"Why?"

"Uh..."

He kept looking out the window. I got up, and walked over to him. There was more than a foot of snow outside, and it was still snowing. Hard.

I sighed, and looked at Riker.

"Sorry... I can't control the weather."

"Can we go back to bed now?" I whined.

"What do you mean by 'we'?"

"You're my second heat source. The fire is the first. Now come on."

"Wait! I have to pee first! I'll be back in a minute!"

Riker went to the bathroom. I went back to our bed next to the fire, and I got under the blankets. Riker joined me about a minute later. I laid against his chest.

"Can I ask something?"

"What, Riker?"

"Well... It's just that you want to go back to be with your boyfriend... Would he object to... well, this?"

"What?"

"Cuddling... With another guy?"

"Well yeah, probably. But I don't take you as the kind of person to do it in 'that way' or whatever. Our cuddling is strictly for warmth. And since you were dumb enough to get a cabin without heat, this is the only way I can survive without getting hypothermia and dying."

"Ok..."

"What about you? Do you have a girlfriend who would object to this? And kidnapping another girl?"

"No... I don't have a girlfriend."

"That's probably a good thing. You'd probably kidnap her too."
