"We got no place left to go," T-dog began to say as Maggie flattened the map over the hood of the car, and I listened intently as I kept watch, looking out down the road. "When this herd meets up with this one, we'll be cut off. We'll never make it south." Maggie informed as Rick stepped up behind her to look at the map. They talked amongst themselves, and after a few ideas were thrown out Rick suggested a plan. "At Newnan we'll push west. Haven't been through there yet." he stated as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other.
"We can't keep going house to house. Need to find someplace to hole up for a few weeks." he continued, his eyes landing on Lori, who was still in the car further back. T-dog nodded quickly, "Alright. Is it cool if we get to the creek before we head out? Won't take long, gotta fill up on water. We can boil it later." he asked as he began to walk off and Rick motioned with his hand. "Knock yourself out."
I made my way over to where both Rick and Hershel stood, and they turned to acknowledge me as I cleared my throat. "Lori, she can't take much more of this moving around." I spoke softly, and Rick let out a sigh. "What else can we do? Let her give birth on the run?" he questioned, a little frustration lacing his tone, and Hershel quickly stepped in. "Do you see a way around that?" he asked him softly, placing a hand on the man's shoulder, and Rick looked around as he thought about what we said.
"Hey," I turned my head to find Daryl crouching down near his bike, fixing his crossbow, "while the others wash their panties, let's go hunt. That owl didn't exactly hit the spot." Rick nodded, and I watched the two men walk off into the woods, letting out a sigh before going back to what I'd been doing before. A few minutes had passed, maybe an hour before they returned, a hopeful look in Rick's eyes as the group gathered to hear what he had to say. "Daryl and I found a place we can stay; a prison, not too far from here," he announced, and everyone let out sounds of relief as Rick went to talk to T-dog and Hershel.
I looked at Daryl, who met my gaze with a hard look. I smiled at him nonetheless, giving him a short nod, and after a moment he returned the gesture with a grunt. "Alright, let's move out!" Rick called out, and I blinked quickly before gathering up my things, hoping and praying this wouldn't be another dead end.
