Winds of Change Part 3

"Like like vampires?" asked Violet with raised eyebrows.
"I-I don't know. Vampires, zombies, chemical mutants, freaks. Does it matter? The coach was dead. Everyone was eating him!" Nik cried with tears streaming down her face, over the initial shock of what just happened and realising the seriousness of their situation. "Come'ere" said Diesel pulling Nik out into the hall. "You need to cool down, you're scaring people." he said with his hands on her shoulder. "Maybe they need to be scared!" she yelled at him and he shushes her. "All I know is that air made those kids do that." she said quieter. "Come on" he pulled her arm and they went back inside the room with the others. "Addy would never do anything like this." Natalie tried to reason. "That thing wasn't Addy!" Nik yelled at her in annoyance. "hey Noodle" She heard someone whisper behind her and decided to listen in as Grover said something a bout never being radically changed. "I tried but it didn't work can you try and calm her down?" she knew they were talking about her and assumed that he nodded because she heard no response.
She felt arms wrap around her waist and she turned her head to see noodle with his chin resting on her shoulder. "Hey" he said quietly. "Hi" She said back barely over a whisper. "Did you see Lyle?" asked Diesel joining the others conversation. "We know he was in the shelter, and no one down there was okay." Nik said calmly. Turns out Noodle had been able to calm her down. 'Now that's just not fair' she thought annoyed. "I need to see." said Mary finally joining their conversation and everyone looked at her in shock. "No, you can't." Grover tried to reason with her But she wouldn't have it. "maybe we can help them!" she yelled at him. Noodle pulled me back to get away from the siblings fighting. "You can't." Grover said and Nik pulled out of Noodles grasp "Stop! The only people we can help now is ourselves." she said thus ending the conversation of anyone going down there. "We need to get out of here." Leshaen said and Nik sighed. "We can't get out of here." her and Barrett said at the exact same time then looked at each other quizzically before shrilugging it off. "We can't sit in here." Leshaen said "It's not safe." Zoey finished. "Don't you think it ain't any safer out there" Nik said quietly but everyone heard her. "Y'all are idiots" She said pointing to Zoey and Leshaen and Barrett laughed. "Well Noodle, you're girlfriend is certainly interesting." Noodles face turned fifty shades of red. "We're not-" he stuttered put while Nik raised her eyebrows and Barrett laughed at nervous Noodle. "We should go out and find help." Zoey said and everyone looked at her. "How dumb can she get?" Nik asked Barrett who shrugged. "Would you just shut up already, you little witch" Zoey snarled. And Niks glare intensified. "Oh, Heck to the naw" Nik was ready to punch Zoey in the face when Barrett, Noodle, Diesel, and Grover pulled her back. "You're a stupid bubbly blonde whose so dumb She can't even pick a decent boyfriend. I'd slap you but that'd be cruel because you're already stuck with him probably until the end of your sorry life. Leshaen walked up to Nik and glared down at her as the boys let go. Nik just glared back up at him in disgust. "You are a witch" he spat and what happened next seemed to happen in slow motion. Leshaens hand came in contact with Niks cheek and She fell back into Barrett who caught her and pulled her away to the nurses office and she caught a final glimpse of Noodle being pulled off of a now bloody Leshaen.

"There" said Barrett putting a bandaid on Niks temple where she had been bleeding a bit. Noodle walked in with a bloody nose and a black eye. "Noodle!" Nik cried as she stood up and jumped into his arms giving him a hug to which he winced. "Sorry" she said pulling away but he pulled her back to him. "Are you ok?" he asked when they finally pulled apart alone in the office. Barrett must have left. " me? What about you?" Nik asked and he just shrugged. "Here" Nik said making him sit down on the cot in the office. She got a wipe and started to clean his nose while he just stared down at her.  When she finished she noticed him looking. "What?" She asked throwing the wipe away and walking back to where she had been standing. "You have pretty eyes" he said and She smiled at him. "Thank you" she said sweetly and he started leaning in. Nik did the same and just before their lips had thechance to touch the door opened. They pulled away instantly. It was Grover."Hey guys were gonna talk about what to do next" he said as Nik looked at him with the 'really face' "ok She said and her and Noodle followed him but before they went through the door Nik turned and kissed him on the cheek before smiling and running off. "Hey wait up" he said running to catch up to her down the hall.

"If you want to leave, so be it.
I'd rather not be trapped in here with fools." said Barrett and Nik agreed with him so she sat down next to him on the couch. "Don't do it, dude." Noodle warned as he looked at Leshaen who was mad. "What'd you just say?" he asked. "I don't know a simpler way to say "fool." Barrett said an Nik snickered "I'ma kill you." he said throwing himself at us and Zoey stopped him before he could do any damage while we just sat there not even flinching.
"Stop."
"No right now." they argued
"That quickly revert to the basest of human behavior." Barrett said and Nik laughed out loud this time. "You should come with a translator." Noodle said and Nik laughed again "He said you're animals." she said when she stopped laughing.
"Fighting each other is not helping anything. Look, we know that they went out, they got sick, they came back, and they transformed.It's the air. It has to be." Grover said and we all sighed. "So what do we do?" Nik asked Barrett. "Why you asking him?" Leshaen asked angrily and Nik turned to him for the first time in the whole meeting. "Because you're stupid" she said simply a Barrettt snickered. "I say we treat it like we would if it was a radiation issue." he said.
"Stay inside, tape off all the windows and doors to limit contamination." he finished.
"There could be more of them out there." Natalie said. "So what, we block all the entrances?" Diesel asked. "No, there could be more of them in here too." Leshaen  said and Noodle stood behind Nik where she sat on the couch.
"Oh, my god.
We're gonna die here." Nik said and Noodle wrapped his arms around he neck.  "Possibly, but do as I'm saying to improve your chances." Barrett said simply and Noodle glared at him. "Okay, so now what?" asked Grover and Barrett sighed. "Break into twos.
Search the building. Make sure everything's locked and sealed." he said and Nik stood and walked around the couch to where Noodle was. "While you sit back here?" Leshaen asked in disbelief. Barrett was about to reply when Nik did it for him "any one with half a brain would know that he's gonna try and rig the radio to ask for help." she said an Everyone started filing out but Nik stayed behind. "You comin" Noodle asked and she smiled reassuringly. "In a sec" she said and he walked out saying "okay." Nik turned back to Barrett who was working on the radio. He ignored her for maybe two minutes until he said "can I help you?" he asked. "I just wanted to tell you that if you need a partner in crime you know where to find me." she stated before walking over to a filing a cabinet and grabbing something. He finally looked up "oh really and what hav you got to offer me?" he asked as she read through the papers she'd found 'just as I suspected.' she thought to herself and handed him the forms before exiting the room as he looked down at the picture of Violet Adams.

Mary walked down the stairs and into the hallway with the safe room in it. She heard the scratching from the other side of the door but she had to see for herself. She slowly removed the pipe and opened the door to see the kids had moved on from the door and we're once again eating away at the coach. She shrieked in horror and ran but not fact enough as She got pulled down by the one that used to be Addy. She kicked Her in the face and ran out the door before slamming it back closed and replacing the pipe. She regained her posture as she walked back up the stairs.

"Do you mind?" asked Mary to Grover who had just walked into the bathroom where she was washing her hands "Are you okay?" he asked and she shrugged. "Of course I'm okay." she started then continued. "I'm fine, except my brother's trying to follow me into the bathroom.
Go." she said and he looked hesitant. "Go." he finally caved and walked out. She turned on the water then looked in the mirror before pulling up the leg of her pants to reveal a bite mark.
