Down a Dangerous Lane

I've been travelling too long,

Down this road of despair,

The war and the pain,

Along with the devil's dare.

I can't be left alone,

On this road that's so long,

I can't be left alone,

I'm weak not yet strong.

Temptation in the air,

Blowing around like a cool breeze,

Comforting my skin,

As it begins to tease me.

This road I am lost on,

It's nothing like the yellow brick lane,

It's cold and uninviting,

And my heart's its vulnerable prey.

I close my eyes,

For only a split second,

And as they open,

The villains are all around...

And are forces to be reckoned with.

I turn around,

To try and make a run for it,

But unfortunately I’m surrounded,

And absolutely uncomforted.

As they draw closer,

My breathes become my last,

My body begins to die,

And I’ve given in to the scene of my past.

So as I lay there helpless,

My eyes are closing more and more,

I know this is the end for me,

The clock has stopped ticking – Forever more.
