Is somebody out there?
Are you coming for me?
Is there time to get away?
Oh wait it's just a dream.
When i come home,
Real late at night,
I try not to blink,
Or turn out the lights.
I watch my back,
I'm all alone,
WHAT'S THAT NOISE??
Oh - it's just the telephone.
I pick it up,
There's no one there,
In my head voices are saying,
... BEWARE!
I turn on the television,
In hope to settle my nerves,
All of a sudden the power goes out,
And now i cannot observe.
A knock at the door,
A gasp and a deep breathe,
Banging on the windows,
I think i see death.
Utter fear,
Who and what is near?
Who is at the door?
Will this be the end forever more?
As i approach,
To stare fear in the face,
I open the door,
With in one hand, a bottle of mace.
But to my surprise,
Removing all superstition,
It was just a kind man,
In fact the electrician.
He came to say,
He'd fix the power.
The whole street is down,
So it might take another hour.
I regained my breath,
And made my way into bed,
As i covered myself i realised,
It was all in my head.
