Cop cars appeared out of nowhere racing towards me. I felt the electricity in my blood come to life like a caged animal being set free and soon enough my entire being was bursting with electricity I could no longer control.
I was being controlled by anger barely an observer of this anger driven maniac out for blood.
The cars stopped at the same time four men ran at me with their guns out streched. It was four to one yet such terrible odds for them. Seeing as I had gone completely feral any sane person would have seen this as an opportunity to run for their lives. So the cops running towards me with determined looks on their faces were either stupid, suicidal or both.
This was going to be fun, for the irrational part of me that only wanted revenge.
My arms shoot out in front of me just as the first unlucky souls got close and a burst of electricity broke free striking the man in the chest like an aimed bullet. He flew a couple of centimeters backward before falling to the ground unmoving.
A wider smile crept along my features as I turned back to the three cops who were looking at me with wide eyes.
"You've got two options: run, or be killed", I said tilting my head slightly with that same evil smile. Anger was still pulsing rapidly through my blood and this only seemed to make my powers stronger.
The three men looked at each other slowly and and as if on cue turned to charge at me. "I guess its be killed then" I whispered to myself, before jumping to dodge the wheel of one of the cars that was hurtling towards me courtesy of one of the cops with an evil glint in his eyes.
Oh so this is how it was. Well two could play that game. Telekenisis was not a very hard thing to use since now everyone had it.
He was still so intent on running towards me that he hadn't noticed the other wheel coming up behind him until it had slammed into the back of his head. My hand that was up to control the wheel was now back at my side as I fixed my attention on the remainder of my audience.
"Who's next?" By the time I turned to the direction of the other two men, I noticed that they were running back to their only efficient car. Cowards.
I shot my hands out again but this time in the direction of their cars, the wave of electricity hit it with a loud screech, it was instantly tossed out of the way like as all tennis ball- I looked straight ahead ready to kill the idiots, but for a brief moment I caught my reflection in one of the car windows, and froze.
The person looking back at me looked more like a wild animal than a human being. I had turned into the very thing that I was out to destroy.
A killer.
In this brief moment of clearity I decided to stop killing and instead get my sister away from those lunatics.
The cops slowly realizing that I had no intention to attack took this as their opportunity to escape.
*************
It took me quite a while to finally collect my thoughts and get my priorities straight. I was at the brink of completely shattering because my mum had died, however I knew that I had to pull it together and get my sister out of that stupid prison before it was too late.
Those had been my mum's last words. So I would do everything in my power to honour them.
Looking down, i saw that the fake tattoo mum had drawn on my hand was still there, apparently all the people who worked in the enclave had them, the image was not quite what I had expected though, because I was thinking more crossed bones and skull but instead it was a bird with its wings outstreched ...I'm not sure what kind though.
