Chapter 10: That Fateful Confession

“It’s nice to meet you Eren’s and Mikasa’s foster parents… what were your names again?” Armin asked. “I’m Mother Rice and this is Father Rice!” Mother Reiss lied. “Oh ho ho ho! Yes you may call us that!” Father Reiss said while stroking his fake white beard. “Eren, can you show me around?” Armin requested. Eren agreed and sent Mikasa a secretive signal to keep the area a secret.

“Where do you want to go?” Eren asked as they walked down the halls of the obviously enormous building. “Why couldn’t the Reiss’ live in a normal house?” Eren thought to himself. “Can you show me your room?” Armin shyly requested. “Why my room?” Eren laughed. “I need to tell you something without Mikasa stalking us” Armin persisted. “The jig is up Mikasa” Eren sadly stated. “Sorry” She said monotonously.

The two entered the room with Eren blocking the closet from Armin’s view, “So what do you need to tell me so badly Armin?” Eren panicked. “Eren do you think you can get away with this obvious lie?” Armin insisted. “You know!?” Eren freaked. “Of course it’s obvious you stole your father’s money to live in a nice home in the Inner walls… so you could happily live with your lover.” Armin suggested. “Love… lover?” Eren stuttered. “You eloped with Mikasa didn’t you?” Armin asked. “Sort of…” Eren lied.

“Why did you want to talk about this in my room though?” Eren asked. “I admire you Eren.” Armin strongly stated. “I admire you too Armin, you’re really smart and courageous.” Eren obliviously responded. “No. I like you, more than a friend.” Armin confessed as he flipped back his blonde bob.

Eren was aware that Levi is in the closet and that he could get his revenge on Levi by confessing to Armin. But Eren did not have the guts to lie to his friend and could never hurt Levi. “Armin, I like you to… as a friend” He whispered the last part. “I thought so… but could you let me fall in love with you Eren?” “I’m already in love with someone else though Armin…” Eren shyly confessed as he rubbed his head. Immersed in the conversation, Eren quickly forgot that Levi is in the room.

“That person is very cold to me Armin. I know how that fateful requited love feels. You feel so attached but you can’t control it or do anything as you watch the person you love with someone else. It’s hard to be with that person and your heart aches.” Tears slowly flow down Eren’s face as he begins to struggle with his words, “Society can’t accept us. And you think to yourself, why don’t I give up loving this person who only brings me pain? However that person reminds you of yourself too much to let go. You think that person will always need you and there’s that feeling of hope that you hate.” Eren cried.

“I never knew how cruel Mikasa was to you! Society should accept you two as foster siblings… I wonder if Jean had got through with Mikasa though.” Armin stated. Eren began to laugh, “Thank you Armin for being such a good friend” “In contrast to Mikasa I would make you the happiest person alive!” Armin passionately stated.

After that confession Armin left the home and Levi came out of the closet, sneaking up to Eren. “Can you let me fall in love with you?” Levi quoted while groping Eren’s nipples. “WHAT?” Eren jumped. “Am I that cruel to you?” Levi asked as he released Eren. “I forgot you were listening…” Eren confessed. “I guess we even have the same thoughts” Levi said in his casual sultry voice, causing Eren’s heart to beat rapidly. “I don’t get you…” Eren murmured.

It was now Valentine’s Day and a young red-haired girl came to the Reiss’ home that day. Eren opened the door for that girl. “I’m sorry is this the wrong house?” She asked in a confused state. “Who are you?” Eren asked. “I’m Petra Ral, a senior at Shingeki Academy. Ah, you might know Levi, I’m his fiancée!”
