Chapter 12

We lost Johns car at the motel. I told you it was sketchy! So we had to walk with only street lights to guide us. John kept dowsing off so I had to let me repeat myself HAD TO steal a grocery cart from wal-mart. Okay I didn't want to but I had to take it and push him. I mean it was that or leaving him and I couldn't leave him. Like he is the best person I've ever met. Oh no am I starting to like John as more than friends? I think I am but the picture I found in Amanda's bag of John. But does she like him I mean she told me everything. We'll she didn't tell me about the whole abusive foster parents she has or probably had if she died or killed herself. By dawn I was about to fall asleep until I decided to wake up John. "Wake up Jonathan!" I yelled in his ear. "What do you want Lucy? Can't you see I'm sleeping?!?" "Hey, if it weren't for me you would be on the side of the road like five or ten miles back!" "I was joking jeez get in the cart so you can get rest."

An hour or so later John woke me up yelling "Lucy wake up! it's her it's her!" "Who John who is it?" "Amanda see it's her!" He pointed to a girl that looked like her but was it? I mean I have had experience being embarrassed in public like that. So what did John do? Well besides the fact that he almost gave me concussion by running so fast. He chased the girl I think was Amanda. But since he is a fast runner we caught up to her and caught her by the arm. He said "Amanda?" The girl said "How'd you guys find me?" Then the water works came. "Amanda! it's you oh it's really you!" I have her a hug. "I missed you so much!" "You actually missed me? I thought that nobody liked me." "Really am I just chopped liver or something?" She gasped "John I haven't seen you in forever!" They had a hug that lasted like five minutes. "So guys how do we get home?" She asked. "Okay, so I think that we can find a map or something maybe." "So y'all came all the way here just to get me all exited to go home? Wow." "Wait John is your phone dead?" I asked him. "Uh yeah it is sorry." "Let me check if mine is. No it isnt so where is the nearest McDonalds or starbucks? Or anywhere with free wifi?" "Um when we were about to get here I saw a Micky D's." John said. "Well what are we standing around for lets go!" Amanda said. So we took off with Amanda and I in the cart.

When we got there and walked in I bought some food with all of our money combined. We only had about ten - fifteen bucks so we got a lot of stuff to go from the dollar menu. "So why did we come here?" Asked John. "Show you after we eat." I said. We gobbled down our food like we haven't eaten days which some of us haven't. What do mean some of us I mean all of us! "We have to be extreamly cheap so keep your cups guys." Amanda said. "Why?" John and I asked at the same time. She rolled her eyes "So we don't have to pay next time we come to one." She said in a slight whisper. "Oh." I said. "Ok so again what are we gonna use wifi for?" "To get a map on Google so we can go home." I pulled up the picture and took a snapshot of it and off we were.
