After lunch I decided to go home to
my Dad, I had to fix what had
happened before; after all family is
the most important thing in this
world. On the way up the elevator I
dreaded returning to my dad's
place, I was worried he wouldn't
want to see me ever again. I was
scared. No, I was terrified. But I
knew I had to face him sooner or
later. I knocked on the door, and a
few antagonising minutes of
waiting later, my Father finally
opened the door. When he saw me,
his face softened. He was no longer
angry or upset, just happy to see
me. In my head I silently thanked
my creator and I let out a sigh of
relief. I opened my mouth to
apologise and beg for forgiveness,
anything to get him to love me
again. Before I could speak, he
embraced me in a warm hug. "I
was afraid you would be upset
with me after all that happened" I
mumbled into his shoulder, "I'm
sorry, I really am, it wasn't
supposed to happen and I'm sorry"
I was sobbing, letting all my pent
up emotion out. I felt so small,
almost like a child. I missed my
family, my real family before all
the drama, so I was grateful for this
moment. I called Cameron up, and
cancelled all our plans; I needed to
get to know my Dad again.
When I was growing up, I longed to
be daddy's girl. Sadly, I was
deprived of this opportunity since
my father was never around.
Tonight was going to be that night.
We stayed up late, talking and
reminiscing. It was great to
rekindle our relationship once
more.
The next day, Cameron came to
pick me up with Lani in tow.
Apparently she had come back
from jersey last night. We went to
the local olive garden for lunch;
Lani opted to sit on my lap eating
everybody else's but hers food. I
smiled coyly, watching her for a
