So, I'd like for you to read two things before you continue on to read the chapter.
First of all, I'm quite young, so my writing might not be up to standards, not to mention that I'm still in High School, and my homework is piling up to the door, so updates may be irregular.
The second thing I wanted to mention is that English is not my first language. In fact, it's actually my third language. My first two languages are Serbian and Croatian. My grammar may or may not suffer from this fact, but just in case you do see me struggling with grammar (especially past tense to present tense), then that's probably the reason.
With these things in mind, please don't get mad at me if I'm doing something wrong! It's not my fault! Thanks :)
Recap:
Jace took this as his chance. Isabelle looked beautiful in the sunshine, and her lips were right there in front of him. Almost as if they were taunting him.
He leaned in to kiss her, and she leaned in to kiss him, their fingers entwining by their sides. Their lips just inches apart...
Chapter Six
Suddenly, the door burst open, and Isabelle gasped so loudly that it caused Jace to drop her from his hold. She stumbled backwards and as her vision cleared, she saw two male figures standing in the doorway, with shocked but sly expressions on their faces.
"Jace!" Daniel called out, grinning. He looked over at Isabelle, and looked her up and down, smiling at what he saw. "Oh, and who is this babe?"
"This is Isabelle," Jace grumbled in a low voice. He had just been about to finally kiss Isabelle. The kiss that would make her fall for him incredibly easy, and his two mates had rudely interrupted him.
Alex stepped into the house, walked around Isabelle in a swift motion and nodded his head in approval. "She's a good one, dude."
Isabelle couldn't believe what she was hearing. Who were they? Her head spun wildly. She was about to kiss Jace, until these two boys barged in and made quite inapproapriate comments to Jace about her.
"This is Isabelle," Jace explained to them, pointing to Isabelle, he looked over at Isabelle, "And they are my stupid friends, Alex and Daniel. Who, by the way, were not invited," he finished, glaring at his friends.
"Neither of us needed an invitation, Jace. You wouldn't give us one anyway, and obviously we would be missing out on a lot of fun if we didn't come," Alex clarified for Isabelle, who was obviously quite disapproving of the fact that they had came in with out permission. One idiotic hormonal player was enough, adding another two would make her stay a nightmare.
"Get out," Isabelle growled at Alex and Daniel. They jumped a little at her ferociousness. Alex looked worried that she was about to bite his head off - which would be incredibly sexy either way -, but Daniel smirked with ease. She's a feisty one, he thought to himself.
"Woah, woah, woah," Alex replied, holding up his hands as if she was a police officer and he was being arrested for drinking a little bit too much, and then driving. "I don't remember you being Jace's best friend. If anyone should leave, it's you."
Isabelle shot daggers at Alex with her eyes, and Jace rubbed his back with his right hand, awkwardly. "Uh, maybe we should just relax," Jace suggested to the group.
Daniel raised his hand and grinned at Jace, "I second that. I wouldn't want Isabelle feeling as if she has a reason to leave. Three guys in one house is no fun. I'm sure, however, that Isabelle will be the perfect toy to play with."
Isabelle gasped at the comment. "I resent that! I am not a toy to be played with. If you wanted a girl like that you probably should have came along with your own," she snarled at him. "But then again, you shouldn't have even come. You weren't invited, remember?"
All three boys looked over at Isabelle. Alex and Daniel were surprised that she had defended herself, rather than falling all over them at their command. Jace was just proud that she could take a stand against his rather irritating friends. Whatever they are, they're still friends, Jace thought.
"Guys, pick a bedroom," Jace finally said in defeat. "I'm going to lie down for a little bit. There's a fresh batch of spaghetti bolognese in the kitchen, next to the sink. Isabelle, sit down with Alex and Daniel and get to know them," he directed to them, and then he added a tiny white lie, as he looked over at Isabelle, "they're not that bad."
Jace stumbled towards his bedroom, and Alex and Daniel couldn't help but smirk at Isabelle, who was standing there awkwardly. Get to know these idiots? she thought, no thank you.
A few minutes later the three were sitting down at the kitchen table. Alex and Daniel each had a bowl of spaghetti under their noses, but weren't eating. They were too intrigued by Isabelle to eat.
"So, uh, how come you two don't go to our school?" Isabelle asked, twirling her hair with her pointing finger. She didn't know what to talk to the boys about, and she was making up random questions that she couldn't care less about, as she spoke.
"We're actually in college," Alex said, speaking for both boys. Isabelle couldn't help but stare into his hazel eyes. He had sandy blond hair that he wore in a shaggy, messy hairstyle. It made him look incredibly hot.
"College?" Isabelle repeated. Wow, college boys. Daniel grinned at her shocked expression. She seemed so easy when her eyes danced at the sound of such short, simple and silly words such as 'college'.
Daniel shook his dark brown hair out of his eyes as he looked over at Alex with a well-known expression. I'm so going to score tonight.
"I'm still in High School," Isabelle explained to the two boys that seemed strangely interested in what she had to say. They stared at her with excited expressions - they had very similiar thoughts - What a hottie!
"Normally I would go for older women," Daniel told her, "but I'd say that you're better than most of them. Now I see why Jace would pay you to come here. You are truly amazing."
Isabelle's face dropped. Those words made her absolutely sure he was just trying to get her into bed. Which made complete sense - it's not like Jace could be friends with any genuinely nice guys.
Alex dug his fork into his spaghetti for the first time since they had seated at the kitchen table. "You're pretty entertaining, Isabelle. Like a little doll. Cute."
Isabelle tried to stop herself from rolling her eyes. Although she didn't want to be known as sexy, hot or amazing, cute wasn't exactly a step up. She knew, however, that Alex was just trying to be polite, as he knew how much being called those rude, impolite names bothered her. Maybe some of Jace's friends were nice.
Isabelle looked over at Daniel, and had it been just a second later that she had done that, she wouldn't have seen his eyes looking over at her chest with such desire, that it made her want to puke, but she did look over at him, and she did see him staring at her.
Daniel smirked, looking up at her eyes. Their eyes locked. "You know, I'm seriously trying to stop myself from jumping on you right now," Daniel told her simply.
Puke, she thought to herself, God, and I thought Jace was bad.
Isabelle stood up, collected Daniel's empty bowl, and made her way to the sink with out even asking him if he wanted seconds. She dipped the bowl into the cold water that sprouted out of the sink faucet. The cold water brushed against her hands. She moaned at the feeling it gave her.
Daniel leaned in closer to her ear, smiling at the moan she had let off from what she had thought to be the water. He whispered five words in her ear as she stopped washing the dishes - Let's get out of here.
