I had just about skulled half of my fourth drink when I firm hand pulled the bottle from my mouth and slammed it onto the bar. I looked up to be met with the angry eyes of Bray. He was fuming.

‘Ella, where’s the bartender that served you?’ he asked me and I was surprised with how calm his voice came out. I pointed to the older dirty looking man and watched Bray walk down to the other end of the bar to give him a talking to. From my seat it looked as if Bray was yelling at the Bartender and the old man was looking back at me with wide eyes. I assumed he had just found out my age. After about 2 minutes a steaming Bray came back to me.

‘Let’s go’ he said pulling me lightly by the elbow, but I refused to go along with him.

‘No, I’m having fun Bray!’ I giggled again and shook my arm away from him

‘If you don’t come with me in the next minute I’m going to carry you out of here whether you like it or not’ he whispered into my ear.

If I was in my sober state I would have realised that he would actually do just that, however in my drunken state I decided it was a good idea to test him and resume my half-filled bottle that still remained on the counter. I moved my hand to pick up the bottle and before I could grasp it my body was lifted into the air and over the shoulder of Bray who began walking out of the restaurant and bar. I had a lovely view of his behind and that’s when I realised he would have a lovely view if mine stuck up in the air too. At that immediate thought my heartbeat quickened even more and my cheeks began to heat up. When the cool air hit my face I knew we were outside.

‘Brayyy put me down now’ I slurred and wriggled in his iron grip

‘Brayyy’ I demanded again and with that I slid down his front and landed on my unsteady feet. When my feet hit the ground I wobbled and stumbled but regained balance by flailing my arms around like an idiot to keep me from falling.

I walked in what I thought was a straight line next to Bray but wasn’t it resembled a zig zag pattern and he had to keep steering me away from things I would trip over- rubbish, dogs, hobos. Every street pole I saw I grabbed hold of it with one hand a twirled around it making myself even dizzier but I was having a great time. As I was spinning around the pole I caught sight of Bray on the side walking shaking his head at me with a faint trace of a smile on his face. When I soon got tired of spinning I went up to every person that walked by us and said ‘Hi I’m Ella and I was kidnapped by Vampires!’ but luckily for Bray’s sake no-one believed me. So I went up to the next person and started again.

‘Hi I’m Ella and Vampires kidnapped me!’ I yelled at the elderly couple that had stopped to listen to me,

‘Excuse my girlfriend she’s had a little too much to drink and has gone a bit hyperactive’ Bray apologised to the couple and steered me away.

‘I can’t believe the bartender gave you alcohol, your only 16!’ Bray exclaimed ‘You could get alcohol poisoning, I’m so so mad at him’

‘Your not mad at me?!’ I exclaimed a little to dramatically

‘No, you’re just a kid Ella, of course if someone offers you alcohol and is paying for it you’re going to take it. You don’t have the maturity to know any better at your age’

‘Ohhhh’ I replied

‘Let’s just focus on getting you back to the hotel in one piece’

‘How much further?’

‘About a block and a half’

‘Ugh’ I replied with a huge sigh still stumbling, then I spotted another street lamp. Hey I hadn’t spun around in a while! I made my way over to the pole and began spinning myself around it for a good 5 minutes until Bray was forced to pull me off it.

‘Your nooo fun’ I slurred as I left the pole I could no longer walk in a remotely straight line, I nearly walked onto the road by accident as I could no longer control the direction my legs took me- I was way too dizzy. But Bray pulled me up into his arms bridal style before I became road kill.

‘I think it’d be safer if I just carried you the rest of the way home’ Bray said looking down at me with amusement on his face

‘Thankyou handsome’ I replied giggling

‘You think I’m handsome?’ he questioned

‘I think your gorgeous’ I giggled at my honest answer

‘What else do you think?’ he asked taking advantage of my drunk state to get some more honest answers

‘I think you’re the good guys but I don’t know if I can trust you or not, I think I really like you Bray your beautiful, I think when I had you in my bed all I could think about was your lips’ I stopped and stroked his lips in my intoxicated state before continuing with my confessions. ‘I think I still really want to back to Sydney though, but I know if I go back I have no one to go back too, no family anymore no one to look after me. But I also think you do a pretty good job of taking care of me, I mean you always catch me before I escape, you like a.. a.. ninja!’

‘A ninja? Not a Vampire then hey?’ Bray said chuckling contemplating over my confessions.

‘I like Bray’ I said looking up at him. He looked down at me and our eyes met, I craned my neck up and placed a small kiss on his softy pink lips before settling back down in his arms where everything went black.
