AN: Sorry for not updating for a long time! When I say I have writter's block, I HAVE WRITTER'S BLOCK.  It's horrible!

Anywho, my LA teacher got me out of my writter's block by giving our whole class a prompt to make a poem on one of the characters from a book we're reading called The Outsiders. It's a great novel, and if you haven't read it, I suggest you do! For this poem, I chose Ponyboy, the main character.

SPOILER ALERT. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK AND DON'T WANT TO SPOIL IT FOR YOURSELF, DO NOT READ THIS POEM (one of the lines hint at a very big turning point)!

I walk in an endless daze,
Through the fog,
Through the haze,
Never thinking clearly
All throughout my days.

Everything's a dream,
Nothing's really real.
Untill that night a small blade
Finally sealed the deal.

By then the coulds
Had finally cleared,
But things were not that sunny.
The world I saw was
Filled with fear,
And it was true reality.

No more sunsets,
No more dreams.
There's no way
To turn back green.

But I was told
That when you became old
In mind, not years of age,
That you might become cold,
But you'll eventually be gold
If you'd just turn the page.

So now I walk in an endless daze,
Through the hurt,
Through the pain,
Always thinking of
My good ol' days,
My childish ways,
My childish ways,
Always thinking of
My good ol' days.
