Amane's POV
It's gone.
Gabby's face paled as she stared at the empty glass case. "My God."
"Gabby are you okay?" I asked her. What a stupid question. Of course she's not okay.
"The weapon in this case is gone. It's very dangerous. Especially when held by evil." Her voice is shaking, tinted with anxiety, anger, fear and sadness.
I silenced myself. Wondering who would want that weapon.
"Demons." She says, answering my thoughts.
"I don't understand." I say. What would demons want with the starshot?
Oh. Because it's Azazel's starshot, and he's a demon.
"Demons wanted the weapon. It could eliminate angels. They hate angels and anyone who has a hint of angel blood." She explains.
"Even nephilim?" i ask. She looked surprised.
"Drift explained some things to me about all of you." I say.
"I see. Yes, even the nephilim. The offspring of angels and humans."

Gabby looked as though she might faint when I helped her sit on a couch in the library. Her blue eyes were free from their usual twinkle.
"Would you like me to get you anything Gabby?" I ask her. She nods.
"Can you get me some water?" She said softly.
"Okay, lemme get some." I walk towards the dining hall and looked for some water on their refrigerator.
After I poured some water on a glass, I head back to the library and find Gabby sitting on the same position I left her. Completely unmoving.
"Gabby?" I hand her the water.
"Thank you Amane." She says. She drank the water in one gulp.
"You're welcome." I say.
"I should go inform Raphael about this. If you could excuse me..." She walks out of the library and immediately disappears down the whole, completely leaving me alone in this room.
The clock says it's 10 in the evening, and I'm wondering where are Drift, Mattini and Jake... Are they okay?
My eyelids are drooping when I noticed a slick movement near the book cases. I was immediately alert. And panicking.
I silently went near the book cases, and saw nothing. Am I hallucinating?
But there is a black feather floating on the air. About to land on the floor. Black...
Oh my God, demon!
I run for the weapons room to get at least one weapon. I'm surprised how fast and silent I was able to barge into the room and get my hands on a long blade. The blade was surprisingly light weight and glowed dully with my touch.
My vision sharpened. It's like having binoculars as eyes. Everything is clear.
And I see the figure, moving fast enough to be seen by the naked eyes.
I dart towards the figure and when I neared him, I think he sensed me. He stopped moving with a book titled Grimoire of Angels.
"Drop it." I'm surprised with the authority in my voice when I'm just an evacuee here.
The demon, a boy, did not drop the book. Instead he faced me.
His black wings retracted. His hair messy and black, like mine. His face beautiful, for a demon like him. His eyes... Were familiar.
He smiled at me. A crooked grin with a devilish hint.
I dropped the blade and it landed with a thud, unglowing.
"So you're here. As a spy?" He says. His voice is surprisingly sexy.
"What are you talking about?" I demanded. He laughs.
"Don't play coy, A." How the hell does he know I'm Amane?
Before I was able to ask him, the door that leads to the library opened and Drift came in.
"Amane!" I hear him calling my name.
"'Til we meet again, mademoiselle." The demon vanished in thin air.
Drift appeared on my side.
"Amane come on! The camp is under attack!" Drift frantically says to me. But I'm not paying any attention.
He is familiar. But I don't remember him.
Drift grabbed my arm and took off running down the corridor. He ran so fast I can barely keep up with him that I tripped, scratching my arms and legs.
"Damn, I'm sorry, I'll carry you." He carries me bridal style and ran.
We reached a room full of people and he set me down. I winced. He supported me.
"Gabby, Raph, we're here!" He shouts amidst the noise.
A man, who looks a little older than Drift, approached us.
"The demons are gone." He announces. I heard Drift sigh in relief.
"Thank God." Drift says. The man smiles.
"Everyone shall stay here. For security measures." He says. He eyes me.
"So is this the new girl? The newly rescued one?" The man asks.
"Yes, she's Amane." Drift introduces me. The man smiles.
"Welcome to the Camp Amane. I'm Raphael." He holds out his hand and I shake it. His eyes widen and he takes his hand immediately. He furrowed his brows. Realizing his actions, he smiled.
"Nice to meet you... Amane." He walks away from us. I stare at him as he got lost in the crowd.
Drift looked at me with concern. "You okay?"
"Yeah." I wonder what got Raphael to jerk his hand from mine.
