Mahika's POV :

"Hello?" I said in a small voice just praying to god that my voice didn't crack.

"Hey, Mihi! What you doin?" Rey asked in an upbeat mood.

"I-I just got back from school." I said and subconsciously sniffed. I slapped my forehead the second I realised it.

"What's wrong? Were you crying?" He asked in a concerned voice.

"No." I said a little too quickly. "Don't worry, nothing is wrong."

"It doesn't sound nothing to me. Tell me." He said.

I closed my eyes before taking a deep breath in.

"Something happened in school." I said.

"What happened?"

"Ishaan found out that I have a crush on him." I said.

"What?! How?! And what did he say, Mrs. Verma?" He said in a teasing voice.

"Rey. He laughed. Everyone in my class laughed." I said. "And I didn't tell him. Rutika did." I said.

"Who's Rutika?" He asked after a long pause.

"My classmate."

"Why did she tell him? And the whole classroom?" He asked in an astonished voice.

"I have no idea. All my classmates always do that." I said trying to keep my calm, and not bursting into tears.

"Mihi, talk to me. Please." He said softly.

I had to tell him. I couldn't keep him out anymore. I needed him. And he wanted to be there for me.

"Okay. Here goes..."

And so I told him. I told him everything that had happened since last year. All the things they did to me, said about me, said to me. I told him how it affected me. That it finally, after some months, drove me to harm myself.

I also told him that I stopped now. Because of the band. Because of the family I made through them.

Because of him.

It was so painful to walk him through all those things. I had to stop after every two minutes to collect myself and then continue again. All those incidents replayed in my mind and I would break down and cry as much as I did when the incidents actually took place.

"That is why I'm always disturbed when I get back from school." I said with a final sigh.

"Oh my god. I had no idea you were going through so much, Mihi." He said softly.

I didn't reply, just sniffed.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" He asked.

"I...was afraid of losing you, Rey. You were the first friend I had made in two years." I said.

"Why would you loose me because of this?"

"I thought that you would take me as a freak as everyone does...and, and leave." I said.

"Mihi. You're my best friend. Nothing can change that. Your classmates don't know what an amazing girl, they're missing out on!" He said.

"Really?" I sniffed.

"Of course! I love you, best friend!" He said.

I laughed a little bit. "I love you, too, best friend." I said.

"Great! You're okay, now. So you wanna meet up?" He asked.

My eyes widened. It had been 3 months, but me and Rey had never met. I wasn't sure if I was ready to meet him yet.
