Mahika's POV :

It had been a few days since new year's eve. And I still hadn't spoken to Rey. It was driving me crazy. But I still didn't want to talk about the kiss, or whatever I had decided, or thought about it. Sam, Adish, Shruti, Neil, everyone was trying to get me to talk about it so that I could feel better, but I kept on dodging their questions.

Adish was my best friend in college. He and I had grown closer since our first week here. He was in the Commerce faculty, so our college timings would be different. But we would often run into each other and sometimes even skip lectures to hangout together.

Sam knew him, but they weren't as close as me and him were. They would talk if they saw the other person somewhere.

Adish knew everything about me, right from my school, to Harsh, to Rey and just everything else. And so did I. I had recently introduced him to Purva, and these two seemed to have hit off pretty well. Purva hadn't really been a part of my life ever since the Harsh incident, but she was still a friend.

Adish had become a big part of my life, and had also been to my house a few times. My mother loved him. She found his jokes funny, which by the way weren't. Adish had really made a good rapport even with my sister! Which was weird because Rhea didn't really like my friends. Apart from Rey and Sam of course.

Also, my family knew that Addy - as he likes being called - meant well. He really cared about me and loved me as a best friend. He knew Rey and the two of them would get along quite well.

He told me that he knew in the first two weeks that Rey had a thing for me and didn't just look at me as his best friend. I hate that everyone but me realised it.

"Babe, this is a big deal. How long are you gonna run away from it?" Addy asked me.

I sighed. "I don't know, okay. It's just... It's so terrifying. I have never been able to imagine a day in a life without him and now suddenly I'm thrown in this situation where, whatever I decide, I'm putting everything at stake!" I ramble.

Talking to Addy is so easy, just as easy as it is to talk to Sam. And his advices are also so helpful. He understands me very well.

"I understand, but you gotta at least hear him out!" Addy said. We were sitting in a cafe that always served the best cold coffees.

"Yeah, I know. I just don't know what to say to him." I said.

"Meet him up. A soon as possible." Addy said and leaned back in his seat.

I sighed, and looked down at my phone laying on the table. I hadn't gotten even one call or text from Rey after new year's day. And today was the 5th. I missed him so much. I hadn't gone for one day without at least one text to or from him, before. This was taking a toll on me.

I picked up my phone. "I'm gonna call him now." I said and shot up from my seat. I walked out of the door of the cafe me and Addy were in, and dialled Rey's number.

It rung twice before he picked up. "Mihi?" I heard his voice and I swear to god, I had never felt better. I felt myself letting out a breath of relief.

"Hi, Rey." I said.

"How are you?"

"That's not why I called you." I jumped to the point.

"Right. What's up?"

"We need to talk. Meet me at our spot today at 7." I said.

"Okay. I'll be there." He said.

"I'll see you. Bye Rey."

"Bye."

I hung up the call and went back inside. I took my seat from across Addy while he looked at me expectantly.
