~ Chapter 16 ~

I eyes slowly fluttered open.

My mouth had a nasty matalic taste to it and my spine felt like it was on fire.

"Hey, your awake!" Said a voice. It felt like the screamed in my ear.

I groaned. "Would ya stop ya screaming?!"

Donnie blinked in confusion. "I didn't scream."

I winced. "Well it sure as shell sounds like you did!"

"At least we now know your personality didn't change." He joked.

"Oh, ha ha." I mumbled sarcasticly. "Tease the girl who just got shot!"

"Actually you got shot three days ago..." Donnie trailed off.

"What?!" I shot up only to be greeted by a whole lot of pain.

I yelped and layed back down.

Donnie checked my pulse. "You should really take it easy. Try not to use your back a lot for a few days."

I groaned again. "What am I suppose to do? Stay in bed forever?"

Donnie sighed. "I'm just the doctor."

"Exactly. So tell whether or not I am resricted enough to stay in bed!"

Donnie managed a feint smile. "You can get out of bed as long as someone helps you walk around."

I twirled my fingure around in the air. "Yay." I said sarcasticly.

"Oh, and you have some visiters."

"I do?"

"Yeah, I'll send one in." Donnie stood up and left for a moment.

'Its probably Bekka or April.' I thought.

The door creaked open and a dark green turtle walked in with a black mask and hazel eyes.

I frowned. "Who are you?"

The turtle blushed. "M-my name is B-B-Bandit."

I gasped. "You mean Raph's pet turtle Bandit?!"

He nodded. "Y-ye-yeah..."

I slowly leaned up. It hurt a lot but I managed.

"How? I mean, its amazing you mutated but how?"

He blushed even more. "I kind of ran away and followed you when you left."

I blushed. "Really?"

He nodded. "I had gotten lost and went to sleep in a warehouse but when I woke up, these metal monsters put me in this goop. And then I escaped."

"Were you the one who talked to me a few days ago?" I asked.

He nodded. "Why did you take out your weapon?"

"I-I didn't know who you were..." I trailed off.

Bandit looked down.  "Oh, I see."

I immediately felt guilty.  "No!  No!  It's not like that!" 

He looked at me curiously. "Then what is it like?"

I had to think for a moment to have a smart answer.

"I was just a little edgy, you know.  Um, a little freaked out..."

He tilted his head to the side.  "So you did know who I was?"

"Sorry, no..."  I trailed off again because I HAD NO CLUE WHAT TO SAY!!! 

What even should've said?!  'Oh yeah, I TOTALLY knew who you were!'  Let me think...NO!!!
