I hummed to a random tune as I walked down a sidewalk, heading towards the sewers.

The cool winter air felt good so I decided to take the long way to the nearest manhole cover that is the correct tunnel to the Lair.

That was my first mistake.

My discussion at lunch with Casey re-played through my mind...

"Hey, Nick. Can I talk to ya?" Casey asked as I sat down.

I shrugged. "Sure. What's it 'bout?"

Casey tapped his fingers nervously on the table. "It's 'bout a...girl."

I raised my eyebrow. "What girl?"

"That's not the point!" He snapped.

I put my hands up in defense. "Sorry Captain Grouchy Face."

He sighed. "Never mind."

"No," I whined. "Tell me!"

He groaned. "Fine! What do I do when I like a girl? Like, like like her."

I frowned. "Like like her? Hmm, I dunno! Why am I the Cupid? Bekka has the bow and arrows!"

Casey started popping his fingers. He only does that when he's seriously nervous.

"What's the girls name?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter!" He said.

"Yeah it does. Girls have certain personality. You gotta know the girl to know the guy she needs to marry."

"Hey, I never said anything 'bout marrying her!"

"So? I assume if ya like a girl, you'll wanna marry her." I pointed out.

"I don't wanna marry April!" He growled.

I blinked. "April?!"

He swore. "I didn't say that!"

"Yeah you did."

"No!"

I laughed. "Casey and April sittin' in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" I sang.

Casey looked over at April and Bekka. "Are you guys seriously talking 'bout homework?" He asked.

I smirked. Typical Jones trying to change the subject.

"What are you guys talking about? Skipping?" Bekka demanded

I glanced at Casey and gave him the evil eye, like saying, "Don't you dare open that mouth of yours, Jones."

"Yeah," Casey exclaimed. "We're making plans on skipping tomorrow!" He said rather quickly.

Bekka raised her eyebrow but shrugged. "If you say so."

April announced she was going to give us a ride home but I had plans. I needed to do something.

"I can't. I want to walk home."

"Why?" Bekka demanded.

I shrugged. "I dunno. I like walking. It clears my mind easier."

"Okay..." She trailed off.

I sighed.

Donnie likes April and Casey does too. Donnie already doesn't like Casey hanging around April and if he found out that Casey likes her...
