~ Chapter 5 ~

I crossed my arms, sitting on the rock-like couch with a scowl.  "How long did Leo say he was going to be gone?"

Mikey was flipping through TV channels when he shrugged.  "Dunno, maybe him and Karai are dueling it out again."

My scowl deepened.  "With our luck, we'll have to rescue his pathetic shell."

Mikey turned and grinned, "Then I'll become the leader."

I chuckled, "Sure, bro."

Mikey stared into the sewer tunnels,  "Hungry for pizza?"

I tapped my chin, "Nah, breakfast is still in my stomach.  It's not even close to noon."

Mikey shrugged, "There's nothing to watch, Donnie is shut in his lab, both Leo and Raph are topside."

My eyes narrowed, "Kinda suspicious neither of them have came back yet.  I mean, they left last night."

Mikey nodded, "Splinter wasn't that happy that they left with out training."

"Or letting him know."  I said, "Of course, we could've told him..."

Mikey grabbed his console controller and slipped in a video game.  "Splinter won't be mad forever, with the bros topside, they can cool their shells."

I breathed deeply out my nose, "I guess."

"Hey, uh, guys?"  A voice called out.

Mikey took his eyes off his game, "Bro!  Where have you been?"

Leo gave us an uneasy smile as he walked into the lair.  "I, um, found a friend."

"Found a friend?"  I repeated back to him.

He scratched the back of his head, "Kinda...well, it's confusing."  He glanced behind him and then faced us.  "I think it'd be better if he explained..."

I inhaled sharply as the figure stepped into the light.  "Holy shit, Leo.  You found your twin."  I said.

The humanoid turtle did look a little too much like Leo.  With the same face structure and height, the only difference between them was their eyes and skin tone.  The turtle's eyes were hazel brown with a dark green skin tone.

Mikey inspected the turtle, "Is he...like us?"  His eyes got wide.  "Is he our long lost brother?!"

Leo laughed lightly, "No, Mikey.  This is Bandit."

I choked on my own spit, "Bandit?  You mean like Raph's-pet-turtle-Bandit?"

He nodded, "Yeah, he got mutated.  Surprise."

"Surprise is putting it a little out of proportion, Leo," I chided.

Bandit looked a little embarrassed with all the attention on him.  Perhaps it was because Mikey was staring so intently at him.

"So," I said, "Bandit, how are you...y'know...a humanoid turtle?"

He stared at the floor, shifting from foot to foot.  "It's kinda confusing, I don't really remember most of it.  What I do remember is...odd."  He glanced up at me.  "Is being called a pest bad?"

I blinked.  "Well, yeah, it means numerous things.  From a destructive nuisance to an annoying person."

His shoulders sagged.  "Oh."

Leo glanced at him.  "Why?"

Bandit forced a smile, "Just, um, wondering.  The human language hasn't became fluent with me yet."
