Louis watched as students piled in to his classroom. They all were wearing the same thing and it seemed as if they weren't so fond of returning to classes.

He understands that feeling. Waking up to the first day of school after two months of break is hard.

He shouldn't care though. Louis worked hard to get a teaching job. He'd spent so much money on classes and on that trailer he lives in, but it was all worth it in the end.

Waitering at a job he barely loves wasn't enough for him. He had passion for teaching English to students who are just desperate to finish off the year strong.

He wasn't really popular at school, so being the boss of the jocks was amazing to Louis.

He sort of liked the idea of being able to tell them what to do and control their grades, but he knows he can't just do it because he doesn't like the student, he had to grade them based off their effort and their work.

Louis watched as the guys filled up the empty desks. This was just his odd day classes, so there will be a bigger number of students tomorrow.

He had to teach only five classes today. Each day consists of eight classes and he only teaches five of them on the odd days.

The bell then rung, catching Louis a bit off guard. The lad had already written his name on the board and he has a name tag on his desk.

"Good morning everybody, I'm Mr. Tomlinson and I will be teaching your English class the whole year."

"This is my first year of teaching, so I apologize in advance if I happen to do something to embarrass myself or anybody," Louis continued.

"This whole year will consist off work, so don't expect it to be easy. We will be reading at least four novel and be doing a paper for each novel we read. I assume you lads know how to write one?"

Half the class nodded.

"Great. So, is there any questions?" Louis asked.

A few kids raised their hands. Louis called on one with the unshaven beard.

"Who may you be?" Louis asked.

"I'm Max."

"Okay, and what's your question?"

"How old are you? I think I saw you walking with our principal yesterday, but I thought you were one of the students," Max said.

"I'm twenty four," Louis answered.

Louis looked down to see that he was still wearing his ratty old vans while those guys were in nice dress shoes. He sort of feels pathetic standing in a room full of well dressed rich guys.

"Don't you think your a bit too young to teach here? I thought you had to be at least thirty to get this job," Max said.

"No, I don't think there is a problem with my age. I'm only here to teach, not to feel any younger."

"Anymore questions?" Louis then asked again.

One other kid raised their hand, "I'm Jacob. My question is, why aren't you working at a public school?"
