Harry refused to cry when they had cut him open to remove the dead infant from his stomach. He had refused to cry while he held his baby in his arms and stared into space while the nurse took a picture of Harry and Louis with the baby together.

He refused to cry when he was released from the hospital a week later after his recovering. Louis had tried to get him to talk. They had sent their baby to the morgue, waiting for them to cremate the body.

Louis cried, he cried until his head pounded against his skull, but he wasn't sure if it was for dehydration or his cancer he had yet to tell Harry.

When Harry got home, he went straight to the nursery and locked himself in there. Louis was patient. He would check on the lad occasionally, making sure he was okay and he had made sure Harry was at least eating.

The lad could barely keep his food down.

Niall and Zayn were given the news, Louis then told his mum who had packed a bag to spend some time with them.

Louis is trying his hardest, but it felt like it wasn't enough.

It was then he heard Harry sobbing that it all just hit him. He lost the baby. There won't be crying of an infant at three in the morning, only the crying of grief coming from Harry who still stayed in the nursery.

There won't be any first step, first word, first tooth, nothing because the baby isn't here.

Louis was in pain too. After all he loved this baby as if it was his own and losing it made everything worse. He wanted to leave this world with a possibility of Harry being happy, he relied on this baby for being the source of Harry's happiness, but he didn't get that.

"Harry, it's time to eat, come out please," Louis said knocking on the locked door.

He heard sniffling in the back, but nothing was said. Louis knocked again, but it only angered Harry.

"Go away, I'm not hungry."

Louis sighed and walked back to the kitchen.

He opened up the envelope of his schedule for doctors appointments. He knew he couldn't keep this from Harry any longer, but Harry is going through enough right now and Louis didn't want to put such news down his throat.

He couldn't do this on his own though. He needed support and he wanted Harry's, but he couldn't get that.

Louis is hurting too. He can't bare to think about losing that baby, but right now he needs to survive and beat this tumor that's taken over his brain.
---
It was the same for the rest of the week. Harry wouldn't get out of the room unless Louis was gone or fast asleep.

He couldn't bare to see him. He can't face him and he can't just look at him without breaking down.

He missed his baby. He missed feeling it move around, kicking him, letting him know that he was there.

It felt like a never ending nightmare and Harry just wanted to wake up from it.

It was week two when Louis was growing a little impatient. Yes, he understands how hard losing a baby can be, but Harry needs to try to move on. He needs to get out of that nursery and he needs to start talking to Louis so he knows how he can help.
