"Char! Dinner's here! Come get some before the boys eat it all." Grandma shouts down the hall from the kitchen. I hear gigging drifting down the hallway, I could only imagine how Kenzie and Skylar thought how funny Grandma's last comment was.
I take my laptop off charge and bring it with me to the dining table. I came home a few hours ago, eagerly wanting to download all the photos we took today to my laptop. Before we all went home, we sent the photos we took on our phones to the group chat. It was a lot of photos but I thought if we did that, whoever wanted them, had them and could do what they pleased with them. Like me, I wanted to make a photo album.
Although everyone was here anyway, we could have just plugged our phones into my laptop and just used my wifi instead of using our phone data.
"What's with the thing?" Grandma nods to my laptop, carrying three boxes of pizza.
"Just wanted to start downloading all the pictures from today's scavenger hunt." I explain, clicking the last few to be saved into the folder I created. "I wanna make a photo album with them all."
"Just remember to study as well as crafting that album up okay? Promise me." Grandma gives me a look. One I know well. It's the one she uses when she knows I have an idea in my head and will most likely focus solely on that.
"Don't worry Mrs Ashville, that's why we're here." Luke says, moving over on the couch so I can squeeze in between him and Carter.
"How many times do I have to tell you kids, just call me Robyn."
Luke mumbled a sorry and grabs a slice of pizza.
Within thirty minutes the pizza is all gone, mostly because of the boys and we get stuck into studying.
"Agh! I can't get this!" Isaac cries out.
"Dude you need to stop surfing so much and hit the books more often." Carter laughs.
"You're just as bad, you are just always watching footy." Isaac throws back at him.
"Touché."
Kenzie stretches and starts packing up her things.
"Kenz where you going?" I ask.
"Home? I need to be up early tomorrow for a family thing so I should head out."
Lucas looks up at the clock and quickly gathers his things too.
"Sorry babe I'm out too." He comes over and kisses me on the cheek before he is out the door in a flash. Almost knocking Kenzie over in the process.
"Rude!" She calls out to him, before she too leaves.
"Who put fireworks up his ass?" Sky asks, motioning to the front door where Luke just rushed out of.
I shrug and pack up my own things.
"I think now would be a good time to call it a night anyway, my brains fried." I got mumbled agreements and before long everyone had packed up and left.
Opening up my laptop I click onto the folder that holds all the photos from today's hunt. I scroll through them laughing at a photo of Isaac, and Carter in a pair of women's heels. Both of them looking less than impressed at the six inch sparkly heels that no doubt Kenz picked out for them. I'm almost through them all when I hear Grandma shuffle into the room.
"That doesn't look like studying."
I sigh. "I needed a break."
"I guess that's understandable, you guys were at it for a good few hours. To be honest I'm surprised that I didn't hear more frustration coming from this room."
