"So, what do you wanna talk about?" I ask him as we walk through the forest together. "Why haven't you talked to me in 8 years?" he asks me and I widen my eyes. "Noctis... it's complicated." I say with a sigh. "What's so complicated about communicating with each other, Aura?" Noctis asks and I look at him as he looks down at me, then look to the side. "I-I don't know. I-I guess that when you told me that promise, I didn't really know what to say to you after that. That's what made it complicated." I say to him. Noctis then grabs my arm and makes me face him, "No matter what, I will always keep that promise to you." he says to me. "But how can you keep that promise to me, when you're gonna marry Luna, Noctis?" I ask him and I see his lips part about to answer me, but there was a sudden snap in the forest. I pull away from Noctis and look around trying to find anything. I suddenly see something jump out of the trees and pounce at Noctis and I. Noctis grabs my waist and pulls me down with him to avoid the attack. I look up to see it was a demon and I summon my daggers as Noctis summons his sword. Noctis and I dash over to the demon and start to attack it. I dodge it's attacks and backflip over the demon's claw. I suddenly see Noctis disappear, then reappear on top of the demon and slits its throat. I make my daggers disappear as I stare at the dead demon.

"We should probably head back to camp." I say and Noctis nods.

Once we were back, I see that Ignis had made dinner for all of us. "Hey. Where have you two been?" Aileen asks as they all turn to look at us. "We were just walking and a demon attacked us." Noctis replies and I nod. "Sure. I can think of something else." Akiko says and I glare at her. "*cough* kissing." Prompto says as he fake coughs and I see from the corner of my eye, Noctis glaring at Prompto with crimson eyes, a thing that usually happens when he's angry. "Shut up." we both say in unison. Ignis then walks up to us with two plates of stew and we grab them. Noctis and I pull up chairs, sit down, and start eating. As soon as I eat a bite of the stew, I taste the flavors swirl in my mouth. "Ignis, this is delicious!" I say to him and he gives me a polite smile. "It means a lot coming from you, Princess Aura." he says as I eat another bite. "Please, call me Aura or Aurie." I tell the guys and they smile kindly. "So, why are you three on a journey?" Ignis asks and I feel Noctis' eyes on me wanting to know himself. "The wedding is really big and I wanted to watch my two best friends get married, plus I wanted to give them my support." I lie as I give a small smile. "That's really sweet." Prompto says and I nod and continue eating. After eating, I went to the tent I was sharing with Akiko and Aileen and just laid there. The others were asleep, but for some reason, I couldn't seem to go to sleep. I sit up and carefully unzip the tent. I go outside and walk over to the dying fire just trying to figure out what could be keeping me up. "Couldn't sleep?" I hear a voice ask and I turn to see Noctis walking out of his tent. "Nope. You couldn't sleep either?" I ask as he walks up next to me. "Nope." he replies and I sigh as I look up at the stars. "Beautiful night, isn't it?" Noctis asks as he sits on the ground. I sit next to him and look at the stars again. "Yeah. It is." I say as we hear crickets chirp in the night.

There was an awkward silence between the two of us, but I felt like he was staring at me. I turn to Noctis to see him stare at me with gleaming eyes. I couldn't help but just stare into his eyes in amazement and I felt my heart flutter at the sight of him. His spiked hair shined in the moonlight and his features seemed more defined in the dying flame. "Aura." he calls me as I see him slowly lean in. "Yeah, Noct?" I ask as my heart beats faster and faster. I suddenly feel his hand on my waist and my heart pounds in my chest. His other hand caresses my cheek and his thumb draws circles on my cheek. I nuzzle up to his warm hand on my cool cheek and intertwine my hand in his. He presses his forehead on mine and I can feel his breath. Almost all of me wants to kiss him, but it takes all of me to know that I can't do this. "Noctis, we can't." I say with a sigh as I start to pull away, but he pulls me back in. "Why not?" he asks and I open my eyes and look at him. "Because your marrying Luna, and it would be wrong." I say pulling away from him and look away. "Aura, I want to be with you." Noctis says and I turn to him with wide eyes. He grabs my hand and brushes my bangs back. "I can't." I say and I walk back to my tent then lie down. I finally found out what's been keeping me up. These thoughts about Noctis. My heart flutters at every mention of his name and my cheeks flush red whenever I see him. Maybe it's time that I move on now that he is marrying Luna, and try to focus on my own kingdom since I will rule it one day.
